If you're looking for a place to relax then there is no place like this resort, it is tranquil, quite and most of all clean! The helpful staff makes it perfect! I had fun and would certainly go back again!

we are family of 8 and we stayed in 3 different rooms.

Bungalow- my husband and i stayed here. the room has awesome native furnishings.

guest house- my sisters stayed their, one room is big and the other one is smaller.

round hut- this is my favorite room. it is situated uphill with a fantastic view of the beach, this one is uniquely made and design, I just love it.

one of its kind in Davao with own butler service. ours butlers were rizza, and i forgot the two who treated as well.

The owner madame April is very hospitable and accomodating. She also pick us up at the wharf.

the place is lushed with plants, trees and flowers. animals are wandering around like goat and goose, they have caged snake, and a pond. Clean pool and a bar. no restaurAnt yet but they will have one in the future according to staff.

If you love a peace and quiet, and appreciate nature. This place is for you! no night life here.

Hof Gorei Resort is a truly amazing place. Ideal for couples, or for people who like peace and quiet. The IDEAL place for a honeymoon, with comfortable rooms and excellent service. It is not ideal for children or for folks who want lots of bars with loud music... I'd call it a touch of paradise! The food is FANTASTIC... There is an excellent swimming pool that is VERY well maintained, and a beautiful tropical garden complete with a duck pond. It is the ideal place to relax. I certainly hope to return there sooner rather than later. Visiting Hof Gorei was a wonderful experience for me. It is simply brilliant!

Room Tip: Go for a bungalow near the beach...

Staying at this hotel is one of the best experiences I had. You have your own personal butler who is always on the go, very kind and always smiling! The staffs are very kind and accommodating.

The room is clean. It has a mini bar but the products are expensive. Coke in can costs 88php while bottled water costs 38php. The food is also expensive.

How to go there:
1. There’s a scheduled round trip boat transfer to resort. Guests are required to pre-arrange the schedule of preferred for pick-up:

From Sta. Ana Wharf-Davao City to Hof Gorei ETD 1100H and 1430H
From Hof Gorei Resort - Sta. Ana Wharf-Davao City ETD 0930H and 1300H

2. If you will be arriving in Davao at 4pm onwards, here are the possible ways:
a.) 4:30PM using M/L Hof Gorei V at Sta. Ana Wharf, Davao City that will navigate to Kaputian Wharf from Kaputian, Resort boat will pick up the guest at Php350.00 per person per way

b.) Request for a special boat transfer at Php4380.00 using resort's own boat will wait for the guest even if the flight gets delayed.

3. If you will be arriving in Davao at 5pm onwards, take a taxi going to Sasa Wharf. It costs less than Php100.00. Then, take a bus going to Peñaplata (it is worth less than Php50.00). From there take a single motor going to Kaputian directly to the resort. It costs Php250.00/person.

I stayed in this resort in 2011 but could not fill that in so i choose june 2012 instead. I must agree with some of the comments that it is somewhat overprized really. The location and state of the property is really nice though and so is the courteousness of the personnell. The most unique experience is offered in the round huts made of native materials but still provided with all the modern luxuries like aircon and if i remember well even a tele and a small fridge.

One drawback of staying in this place is that you are completely depending on the services of the hotel, that is, also for dinners or lunches. Reason is there is simply no place to go or to walk unless you would somehow arrange to take a boat or crawl through the bushes to another part of the island. The food is average and adds up again to the already relatively high price. The beach is a bit untidy in my memory and, certainly in the context of the price, could be arranged and fixed a lot better.
That having said it is still a nice location, with beautiful flowers all over the property. You can encounter a goose couple during your walk or sit at the poolside.
Transport to and from Davao is provided and inclusive in the booking.

Room Tip: The round hut offers the most unique experience but is still heavily overprized in my humble opinion
