we booked with the honeymoon package of 3d and 2n in a samal suite..we enjoyed the location because its very breathtaking..we really love the buffet because they offer different variants and the staff are very accommodating..from the clear waters you can see a real view of the ocean bed..corals,urchins and fishes which are really kinda different..and of course not to mention CHARLIE!!! i would really love to go back to this place,NO RACIAL DISCRIMINATIONS AT ALL COMPARED TO COCO BEACH PUERTO GALERA!!!

Our third, and last, visit to the Pearl Farm was a comedy of errors. It started with check-in which can best be described as "managed mayhem", with a crowd of people not knowing where or how to check in and little or no help from the staff. We were placed on the second boat to the island and told it left at 8. The first boat left at 8:05. Our boat left at 8:30.We could have stayed in the restaurant and enjoyed some coffee had we known. We got to the island at 9:15 and room check-in was stated to be 2 PM but we've been accomodated early before here. Not this time. We got our room at 2:20. The room was set up for 2 twin beds! We called the front desk and they sent housekeeping to set it up as one Queen bed. We got our luggage at 3 PM.We got locked out of our room when the key wouldn't go in the lock at 6 PM. I went to the front desk and explained our situation. The front desk couldn't reach the manager and asked if we could be reached in our room when they contacted the manager! I re-explained we were locked out! Three guys with two screw drivers broke into our room at 9 PM. We were moved to a "better" room at that time. The drain in the floor of the water closet had a bit of an odd odor. Dinner was served from 6:30 to 10 PM. When we finally arrived for dinner at 9:10 the live music was finshing their last song of the evening! If you want a hot shower be quick about it as the hot water lasts about two minutes. The staff were all friendly and wanted to be helpful within the confines of their allowance by management. I blame the management for not providing the proper training. The food was also very good. Will not pay top dollar for this type of service and facility again.

It was my first time visiting Mindanao - Davao and minus the airport and airline misfortunes (systems' breakdown, delays, double seating) the whole experience was a blast. We stayed at Pearl Farm. It's a 40-45 minutes boat ride from Davao City. The resort has its own wharf in Davao City that has boats going to the island on a scheduled basis. If I remember it right, first trip going to Pearl Farm is around 8-8:30 am followed by a 1pm schedule and the last trip is at 7pm. Upon Arrival we were given complimentary drinks and a brief background and activities you can have at the resort. We stayed on the hilltop villas. This villa is not ideal for older folks as you have to walk on a 30-40 steps stairs to reach the villa but you get to enjoy the island's beauty from the top. But they also have golf carts that can take you to hill top villas or service you around the island.

Activities / Facilities / Amenities:
You can rent on their jetski, play beach volleyball, they have tennis court, basketball court. A game room where you can play chess darts and other board games. You can also rent snorkeling gears and feed fish at the parola area.

It has 2 swimming pools but prohibits guests to swim after 9:30pm (for security reasons i guess). You can also avail of their various massage therapies at there spa or have it at the privacy of your own room.

The Food? Terrific!! It's a buffet. Every night they have different themes. When we visited there, it was Pirates and Pinoy Fiesta Night. Foods served are based on the night's theme. They have mini games and a mini show performed by their friendly and talented staffs.

If you want to grab for a drink, you can enjoy it at there Parola Bar but closes at 12mn. You can also do videoke but only until the hour of 10pm so as not to disturb other guests.

PEARL FARM is definitely a must go on your Davao stay. Just note that it is a 40-45 minutes boat ride from the city so if you'll be staying on the island make sure to have another spare day if you're considering exploring the city as it is not very ideal traveling back and forth from city to the island.

I still remember our stay with pearl farm beach resort in Samal Island, Davao, that was still in year 2007... It was quite far from davao city, 45 minutes boat ride to this island.. In their website/ads, we really thought it was a secluded island but when we reach there, to my surprise there are lots of locals residing in the island, and mostly the locals there are the staff of this resort... Anyway, the eyecatching in this resort is their parola that welcomes us during our arival , the architecture of the resort is more in native style.. even the furnitures in the room are made of bamboo, yet modernize.. we stayed in the uphill villas where it is overlooking to the ocean...it was not a beach front area, and it is quite elevated, so everytime we get back to our room it was a bit tiring.. the place is too solemn and peaceful... I found the place good for honeymooners or adult group with out kids, coz i found the arrival area too deep and unsafe for kids, the path in the arrival area is just a floating raft surrounded by blue deep water...I found the amenities and facilities not a five star resort, the villas need renovation as i observe the roof on it a bit worn out already... But still, we had a romantic evening, i like the serenading during our dinner... But during the evening it was too quiet that you can hear the sound of insects and whatsoever animals in the forest , we were surrounded by trees and bushes.. it is really close to nature.. We enjoyed also the boat ride going to the next island where there is a golf course and also a white beach shore wherein the guest can also take a plunge there, its like a private area,- too quite and not overcrowded.. overall it was a memorable experience..

This is a very nice place near the city of davao. its located just on the beach. The main property is on samal island while there is a small extension on the other side of the bay in the city of Davao. I also sayed a copule of nights in the Davao extension. The place was very homely and the staff was courteous. Food was good. Intestingly its great value for money with hardly 2000 pesos per night
