The service was astounding. Everywhere you look is picture perfect! I went with my cousin on a weekday and we walked as if we owned the place! The food was absolutely amazing! We stayed in a Samal suite and the view of the sea was gorgeous at any time of the day. Loved the happy hour, as well as the live bands at night. This place is best to go on a family trip or with your sweetheart. It's such a relaxing getaway. You feel like you have been elsewhere. There's so many things to do such as going on an island tour, jet skiing, and diving that we didn't do cause they were a bit pricey, but the fact that going to the other island that was owned by Pearl farm was free made up for a day! Beautiful! The only thing though is that there was a cigarette smell that was hard to get rid of in our bathroom but it did not have a negative effect on our trip at all.

Room Tip: Samal suites are the best for two people price-wise. tt's still in the main island and close to...

It's Samal (water) houses are great to stay. Looks old but gives more value. In fact, it always smell new despite made of local materials. Colorful corals around. Snorkeling around is sooo memorable especially for us non-divers. More power to Pearl Farm!!!

The resort has 2 swimming pools and 2 beach fronts to swim in plus the beach on the island across. There are also pool tables, dart board and other games and sports. The back drop is a lush forest, so it is a very good place to relax. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Best of all, we got a very good deal. From the marina wharf boat transfer, to the welcome drinks, to the happy hour drinks at the Parola bar, huge king size bed, balcony overlooking the bay, buffet breakfast, the shuttle that transports you to the other facilities and the speedboat that brings you across to the opposite island. My wife and I really had a great time.

Pearl Farm Resort
Davao , Philippines (Travel date: June 10-12 2011)

Being a Filipino, Iam aware that the Philippines is truly blessed with so many beautiful beaches and natural scenic spots and undoubtedly one of the best tropical countries in the world. When I booked with my travel agency (Roam Int’l Travel & Tours – [--] I was so excited to see and visit the place.

Pearl farm resort is nestled in Samal island Davao city. From Manila – we took an hour and a half flight to Davao via Air Philippines. And since we booked a packaged tour with our agency, we were greeted by a Pearl Farm Staff at the airport and was escorted to our car which brought us to the Marina. From the Marina, we took a 45-minute boat ride to reach the resort. Upon arrival at the resort’s private dock, u will be greeted by beautiful houses on stilts and the very famous Parola house. The resort is truly picturesque as you approach the resort. We were greeted by a welcome drink (tropical drink of fresh orange-pineapple concoction) and were briefed by the resort’s guest relation’s officer Ms. Vivien. We are in deep appreciation to Ms.Vivien’s outstanding rapport with resort guests.

The entire landscape of the resort is truly amazing and I would say that it is really a place to relax and unwind. We stayed for 3-days 2-nights at the mandaya house. (They have different kinds of accommodation go and check their website at www.pearlfarmresort.com to view other types of rooms). Our Mandaya house no.18 is on the southern part of the resort facing two swimming pools and a stone throw away to the beach!! Very private and very serene. From the dock, we took the resort’s golf cart and was assisted to our room. I would recommend this area for honeymooners or couples who would love to have some peace and quiet. Or even an entire family for that matter.

The resort has one main restaurant where all convene to dine (buffet breakfast , lunch and dinner) and experience the sumptuous array of food that has been prepared by local chefs. Iam in great appreciation with the resort’s staffs all whom are so courteous, very accommodating and kind. I would like to commend the resort’s F& B manager, Mr. Marius , F&B asst. manager Mr.Chad Te and waitress, Ms. Tata for giving us a very warm service during our stay.

There is another island owned by the resort – the Malipanao island , resort guests are allowed to tour in this island for free. Just ask assistance from the front desk and they will arrange a boat ride from Pearl Farm to Malipanao island. Another great way to experience the other side of the island.

Overall, Iam truly happy that I was given the chance to visit this beautiful place and having to enjoy it with my wonderful mom!! A very memorable experience that would last me a lifetime.

the hotel is very expensive but not worth it. We stayed on the samal house. The room is very old and warrants repainting. although it is located where a good sunset can be seen, still, it isn't worth the price. the shoreline is not as wide as expected as well as the quality of the sand. it is also situated beside a community (the island is not exclusive) which is surprising. Dont know how it looked good on pictures. The food is so so and the service is not that bad. resort staff are friendly and willing to help which is a plus for the resort. the resort does not make its guests feel the exclusivity being portrayed.

The no wet clothes sign in the open dining area (which they strategically built by the pool and near the beach) should be enough warning for those who are looking for a nice and relaxing resort vacation: PEARL FARM IS NOT A TROPICAL PARADISE. It is a rundown resort that needs improvement on all fronts–service, facilities, food, and entertainment.

Please spare yourselves the trouble and spend your money elsewhere. Believe those who said that there are far better resorts in the Philippines for equal or lesser price.

We were a large group of 31 individuals, including 5 children in the party. Check in was handled pretty efficiently (although we had help from a local travel agent).

We were booked into the Balay Rooms, which I found to my chagrin was accessed by climbing the equivalent of 4-5 stories of stairs. Because the resort only had 2 buggies, these were used to deliver our luggage instead of transporting guests. Little issue there. The room was adequate with one king bed and a single bed which accommodated by family pretty comfortably.

The bathroom was ample but water pressure was dodgy at times. There was no shortage of recreational activities with a relaxing beach, 2 swimming pools, a game room and spa in the main island. There is a water sport center in the island across which is accessed by ferries departing the "parola" every half hour. The ride is a short 2 minutes but the beach across is not so good. The private beach appears to be better but these are reserved for the guests who are checked in in the island's villas.

Food was beyond compare. Had a barbecue dinner the first night with the freshest seafoods and the most tender of meats. Add to this the fire dancers and a rum cola to cap a perfect night. Breakfast and lunch also came as either buffet or a la carte and no matter what you choose, the island's chef is just fantastic.

Had a massage at the spa, which was fairly reasonably priced.

Leaving 2 nights later, but couldn't get enough of the simple beauty of the resort. Will definitely keep Pearl Farm on the radar for future holidays.
