Belfer's Dead Sea Cabins
Reviewed June 4, 2012

Words will hardly serve to describe how perfectly peaceful and rejuvenating my weekend at Belfer's Cabins was. The cabins themselves are delightfully appointed, very clean, and just perfect for a get-away from the world. Beyond that, the Belfers themselves, Michal and Yaakov, are absolutely incredible hosts - totally professional and obsessed with making sure their guests are well cared for. An important piece of advice is this: don't just go for a one-night stay - it really takes at least two days to fully enjoy the areas many hikes (don't miss Wadi Boqeq!).

Belfer's cabins are perfect for a quiet and enjoyable stay at the Dead sea area. We've seen several other cabins in the area and these are with no doubt the best. Michal and Yaacov are great, they will take care of everything you need and help with good advice when needed. Their cabins are nice and spacious, very convenient for families (we stayed there with our 1.5 years old) and most important, they make you feel Home away from home. We strongly recommend to stay there more then one night in order to experience the peaceful atmosphere this area has to offer. Don't forget to check the tasty vegetables Yaacov grows himself, and for the kids - the corn maze and the goats are a great attraction.
Also, there's a wonderful swimming pool in the village for free (4 minutes drive).

Besides the other advantages of this place, we were extremely impressed by the high level of professional hospitality in this cute place. We had some special needs and got excellent service and a lot of care by the Belfers. We hope to come back soon !

If you don't want to be in one of the major dead sea towns, this is a great alternative. It's about a 20-30 minute drive to the dead sea, Ein Gedi and Masada in a little dessert town. The cottages are very clean and comfortable, with a nice double bedroom and kitchen on the ground floor and a comfortable loft space above with three mattresses, (access by a slanting ladder, might be a bit tricky for young children)

When travelling with children things can get complicated. Belfer Cabins was the perfect location for kids to let go and for us to enjoy and relax without worry. They have goats and chickens that the kids can visit. The owners have a lovely garden you can pick some vegetable from for your own diner. The kitchen is adequate to prepare simple meals for a few days. Cooking is done outside and it is just fine.

There are only three cabins and the owners are just wonderful people. they were helpfull with indicating activities the kids would enjoy and we could easily travel to. The accommodations are simple but impeccably clean. The loft for the kids (12 and 13) was great and our room was quite nice. The Belfer Cabin's are located in Moshav Ne'ot Hakikar. It is a small community where you can stop by the local grocery store for the few musts you need for your stay. The Dead sea beaches are quite close as well as hikes in the deserts. We took the kids on a camel ride as promised less than an hour away. All and all a really perfect stay for the no fuss traveller.

It is a very quite place right next to the Jordan Border. It is a good location to visit very interesting places (Dead Sea, Masda, Ein Gedi, Tel Arad, Small Crater etc.) between 20 an 80 km from the place. So you can stay a few days and make day tours. The owners are very nice. It is a small and personal place. The cabins are very nice, beautiful decorated with a nice terrace. You would need a car. There are no restaurants in the Moshav, but you have a kitchen with grill and micro wave, plates etc.
