We have 30 people staying for our club event. Sandy and staff were very helpful and she was there to greet us when we turn up. A bit of issue with beds arrangement but she solve it immediately. Place was clean and tidy.

A bit far away from the tongariro crossing but the peaceful surrounding make up for it.

Everyone was happy and enjoy their stay. Will recommend it to others.

Can't really ask for more - I have been twice as part of a group of 15-20 people, and both times have been fantastic. Staff are always friendly, the place is clean, plenty of space and the ever-expanding collection of animals are great (last time, they had a dog, a goat and a miniature horse). If you have a chance to stay here, take it!

Room Tip: All the rooms I have stayed in have been great - courtyard side was better for sun, however.

I stayed a couple of weeks there and it was perfect. Calm and stress free. Perfect distance to Mount Ruhapeu and the ski field. Shoutout to Carol, best hostess on the North Island! The garden was always in a really good shape, and they got a pet goat! So cute!

The lodge is in the small country town of Raetihi, which is only 15min from Ohakune, but a million miles from the party-hard drunken teenagers of some of the Ohakune hostels. I first stayed here when I needed a place last minute for a weekend snowboarding, and have been back several times. The staff are always helpful and personable, and the facilities are good. It also has a spa, which is always a big attraction after a hard day on the slopes! Good clean facilities, warm, well equipped kitchen and plenty of hot water.

Arrived without a booking and no idea what the place was like. Met Sandy and asked if she had a bed for the night. and how much. "You had better see it first" she said. When I viewed it I said I would take it and only $30 a night. Lovely room with beautiful view of Mt Ruapehu in the morning. Great kitchen, bathroom fine and outdoor area lovely.
Quiet and peaceful. Had great evening in town where I went for a meal.
Would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay in Raetihi.
Great in Summer and equally great in Winter. Lots of outdoor activities.

Spent 3 weeks here and had an amazing stay. Such a beautiful relaxing place - awesome facilities including spa, large flatscreen gv, barbie, foosball/pool - also Sandy and all the staff were extremely welcoming and did all they could to make the place like a second home. Would definitely stay here again, 10/10!
