If your looking for a Mountain hidaway with all the trimmings, sea views, own pool, completley private but with all the services you require including inhouse restaurant (EXCELLENT FOOD)
friendly and compedent staff in Bali then this is the place to stay. Away from all the over crowded tourist spots just peace and quiet in tranquil surroundings. Although a 3 hour drive from the airport this is forgotten within 15 minuites of arrival. Even though its secluded you can still book tours etc and visit the local surroundings the staff will take care of all of that for you. Would recommend staying here and we will definitely come back again

Room Tip: Pool Villa has to be the best.

With the view to the sea, our own pool in the front and privacy to do any activity you want; add silence, excellent food, good service and a wonderfull SPA, you have a stay you can't farget. This is not a place for family with kids, to find friends, drink beer and party through the night. We were on honeymoon, and we had all we wanted: no more, no less.
The 3 hours drive from Denpasar airport get you to have a quick knowledge of Bali; people, living, housing, traffic, road standard and shops in abundance. A friendly driver from compensated for a silent and less friendly return. Forget the delfin tour by boat, or to visit the the beach in town, the local bar or the surrounding. Damai has everything the silent heart wants for a couple in love, and enjoy it all for what it is worth.

Room Tip: Our room with the view to the sea through a green vally of all kinds of trees can't bee better.

It was our second time on Bali and at Damai Lovina. Me and my husband, we knew that we wanted to come back. It’s a hidden gem. And don’t let the distance from the airport scare you – yes, it’s a 3 hour drive from the Denpasar airport, but on your way do Damai you get to see the whole island, it’s very picturesque. And when you arrive, you’ll understand why it was worth of travel. Located on the North of the island, far away from the over-crowded southern resorts, it’s a perfect place to relax, listen to the nature and find balance within you. Come here if you are looking for the peace and serenity. And I wanted to specially thank the staff of the hotel that makes your stay there a perfect experience. The villas are very well maintained, everything’s clean. The territory is beautiful. And the restaurant deserves a special award – the Chef if really the best and you can enjoy great food and drinks throughout the day. I loved the open air dinners near the pool, under the stars. Will definitely come back once again!

The Resort is fantastic (just a little info - because the Resort is in the mountains it rains a lot and it is not shinny, but still very warm weather) - we stayed in a deluxe villa for three days and it was very nice. The staff is so friendly and very serviceminded. It wasn't fake kindness, they were really good people. The food is so delicious and is served very beautiful. We have nothing negative to say. Everything was spot on!

Our stay here was the fourth of 5 stops in Indonesia in which our planning began with a week-long scuba booking at Wakatobi Dive Resort. In traveling that far around the world we decided to spend 6 nights in Bali before Wakatobi (in Sulawesi State) and another 6 nights back in Bali afterward. For reference, you may also see my reviews for Kupu Kupu Barong Villas and Tree Spa, The Sandi Phala in Tuban, Wakatobi Dive Resort and Ibah Warwick as continuations of our customized itinerary that was booked with the assistance of the Wakatobi VIP Concierge service (which I highly recommend).

After our first 6 nights on Bali plus 7 more at Wakatobi we decided to go for something further afield upon our return to Bali and so we arranged 3 nights here at the Damai near Lovina. From the Denpasar Airport our Damai driver took us completely across the island on a nice, 3 1/2-hour drive past central volcanic peaks and lakes to this perfectly lush and serene destination. Following our prior stays with friends, which included touring, shopping, diving and more we arranged this respite specifically (and selfishly) for ourselves so that my wife and I never felt compelled to leave this perfect resort.

We simply relaxed, slept in, luxuriated within our own private infinity pool or lounged on our ample, shaded pool-side divan when we weren't otherwise enjoying our museum-quality accommodations. Spacious, private and appointed as if by a Balinese curator of fine art our 2-bedroom one bath quarters were exceptional in every detail. And we loved the outdoor shower adjacent to the bathroom. Wifi is also available in-suite along with a mini-bar and room service, if desired.

The grounds are perfectly manicured amid lush walkways draped with flowering foliage and Balinese-style lanterns to lend a feeling of seclusion and luxury like no other resort. Breakfast and dinner were enjoyed on-site (we didn't bother with lunch, such was our indolence) in a fine open-air restaurant perched atop the lobby and pool-side bar. As an added delight, torches and a fire pit are illuminated near the main swimming pool around 6 pm every day so that one can sip a favorite cocktail while gazing at a spectacular sunset toward the mountains of Java in the distance. The spa services were also outstanding and we happily enjoyed the best Balinese massage experienced during our entire trip!

A courtesy shuttle to Lovina is available for use by reservation or request but, as I mentioned, my wife and I didn't bother leaving the grounds until our last day when we checked out first and then used the shuttle to Lovina just to be able to see it and, since the same driver would be taking us back to Ubud (2 1/2 hours), we asked him to bring our luggage when collecting us in town. As far as the town of Lovina goes, I wouldn't bother since you can shop or tour far better in and around Ubud. Also, the hawkers in Lovina can be tenaciously exhausting. And again, why leave the luxury of Damai?

Last, we met the general manager, a very nice, interested and informative man from Malaysia named Menon. With delight, we expressed to him our desire return... again and again!

Room Tip: Our room was the exquisite Umah Tirta and was more like a small villa that I would dearly love to pi...

The Resort is a little far away to beach, but you will never care about it once you live in~it is like its slogan: hard to find , hard to leave~~the best villa in lovina~~
In the pool villa, you can see the sea next to the green forest from a high view~
The staff are very nice and polite enough~

The only thing I regret is that we only stayed for one night.
Location is breathtaking. Staff is so kind and serviceminded. Beautiful villas. Quiet and cozy pool area. Very very delicious food - superb restaurant. We would definitely like to return for a longer stay and gives The Damai our warmest recommandations.
