“Great stay for relax :)”
Reviewed July 27, 2013 via mobile

I was in situation need to relax and away from noisy atmosphere and this place was great choice :) surrounded by the sea with cool breeze and totally silence environment. The best part was the fact that they upgraded me to junior suite, much thanks for this! The staff were friendly, they arranged us for dolphin trip at 06.00 am and totally beautiful trip. I was amazed and love the rooms, so spotless, roomy, homy, comfortable and best bed quality. Love the breakfast menu, thank you for Wayan who served us with fullhearted smile. Surely will back here!

We had a great stay at Dolphin Beach Apartments. The Penthouse suite is really large and really stylish, the bathroom is something grand...you feel like a King! And, they have satellite TV with heaps of channels which made our little boy feel right at home watching cartoons.

The views are great, the amenities are super-clean, staff friendly and the food really good. You can eat traditional Balinese or Western...we really enjoyed the variety. Susie the manageress leads a great team, we felt really relaxed and we didn't venture out because its a great place to relax and enjoy the views and the vista. I watched another couple swim out about 200 meters snorkeling, right out front at high tide...they saw lots of marine life. We are going to come back next year!

When we arrived to Dolphin Beach Apartments there were sales men welcoming us. They tried to sell us some trips. We didn't know who were hotel staff and who sales men. Some one guided us to our room and we didn't see any reseption. It was confusing situation. Room was ok but not 4 stars at all! All windows were covered by curtains because there were walls behind windows. Bed was really bad. It made bad noice everytime you moved a little bit. Room was huge and clean also. Maybe sea view rooms are nicer.

The staff was nice. Pool area was also nice and relaxing place. The beach was very nice but there were many desperated sales men. They came all the time behind pool area and yelled something to you. We booked once a dolphin trip and it was amazing! It's easy to book from the beach and then they pick up you next morning at 6. Hotel is located far away from centre of Lovina and there is nothing to do near hotel. It's difficult to find a taxi.

Hotel's restaurant was good.

Room Tip: Room must be sea view!

We thank you for your review and will now answer some of your questions.

Unfortunately, there is nothing any Hotel can do to thwart beach hawkers, but I must point out that hawkers NEVER venture onto the hotel grounds. But we agree that at times, they can be rather annoying. Our advice is to completely ignore them, and in general, they respect your lack of interest and move on.

The Dolphin tour can be a great experience, and can be booked with our staff (the Hotel does not add a surcharge) for the same price you will be offered with a beach hawker. Maybe booking your trip with a hawker alerted them to the fact that you were possibly a target for a variety of other things, and could be the reason while other hawkers distracted you.

We are sure you would have noticed that the Hotel staff have standard uniforms, so there is no way that there could have been any confusion as to who welcomed you to the property

As for windows, yes, two small windows on the side are just to allow daylight in. The front windows are full with of the lounge and offer a tropical garden view when curtains are opened.

I must add, that Lovina does not have a taxi service, but you may have noticed a buggy type vehicle parked close to your room. This is available for a nominal charge to take guests on short trips and for longer trips, we can get at short notice a number of competent drivers. One only has to ask any staff member and a driver can usually be available within 10 minutes or so.

Your comments on the squeeky bed are noted, and has been adjusted by our maintenance crew.

A short visit to show our grandson (aged 7) the dolphins. Big rooms we had no.3 upstairs. The staff arranged for us to have an outrigger pick us up for the dolphin trip at 6am (a must do). We saw lots of dolphins and then bought a few souvenirs on the beach before a lovely breakfast. Grounds nicely maintained and just a step from the beach.
The owners and staff were welcoming and arranged onward transport.

Room Tip: We were happy with room 3 upstairs but were told that Rooms 1 & 2 with seaviews & balcony ar...

First impressions mean a lot. I knew I was in for a nice stay when the friendly staff greeted me with welcoming smiles on arrival, and were very helpful with getting me settled in- nothing was too much trouble. Once in the room, i have to say that i was amazed at the size and quality- so roomy, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Upon opening the doors onto my balcony i was amazed at the wonderful sea view and gentle breeze. Before arriving, I had been traveling for business, and my stay here was a great way to see out the rest of the trip. I will be back, for sure!

Thanks so much for your positive review. We agree, the pool could be a bit small, but as you probably noticed, there's not a lot of extra room beach side.

This is a great apartment and with only five rooms it is really intimate. Small and gorgeous pool - the perfect size, even for 4 energetic kids. Right on the beach. Great staff and food. Rooms are beautiful but only downer is that the shower looks gorgeous but isn't that great. Very big and spacious though. Worked well for our group of 8. It was like we owned the place! Stunning views. Easy transport. Wished we stayed longer!
