I visited this hotel on 13-14 April 2013. The hot water was not working, the bed sheet is wet and not clean, no towel at the room when we arrived. The television channel is only show 3 programs; Indosiar, RCTI and the other one is not clean enough to be seen. Ran out milk while we had breakfast at 7.30AM!?? The chair in the restaurant is old and almost broken.

The only good thing I can say about these cottages is that they are in a good location for Lovina.
Beachfront and pool not bad, and staff also tried to please.
It was obvious, however, that the owner does not maintain the cottages in any way, and does NOT have high standards of cleanliness.
We stayed here with another couple (separate rooms) in February this year, after a lovely stay on the West Coast, and travelled on to other lovely places. This one was the only one I would never return to. There was such dull lighting in the unit, and the hanging lamp shade over the bed was so dirty and full of cobwebs, it was disturbing. Even worse, there was a large cockroach in our room - IN the bed ! Also, the outdoor bathroom was in poor condition, and the rain fell through the roof onto the toilet seat. It was a Balinese style open bathroom, but it's not meant to have leaks over the covered parts, and when I told them about it, they just said : "but it's outside", without understanding it was the covered roof part which was leaking.
Breakfast (which was included) was barely adequate, but served by a nice young Balinese man, who was doing his best with a stingy menu.
This was by far the worst accommodation we have stayed in, and we have traveled extensively, and stayed in cheaper places than this.
If we ever return to Lovina, we will definitely not be staying here.

Room Tip: Do not stay in any rooms here.

this hotel is a mess, the owner is a complete morron and an arrogant pig, very rude,i feel very sorry for all his staff he treats them all with no respect what so ever they always looked sad and stressed out when he was around.,the hotel itself very run down and old in need off a major renovation,at the front which i think was the old reception building he had 2 dogs tied up that slept in their own urine and feaces( i think he had these dogs as security purposes as they would go crazy every time u walked past them)one morning i asked for a coffee 10 minutes earlier then breakfast started and after i finished it i could see the owner telling the staff to charge 25000Rp to my bill because i had it before breakfast time.i dont know what planet the people come from that gave this place a good review.

Room Tip: there is no good room

Staff are very friendly but the Chinese owner’s very arrogant . Not that I’m racist but he treats local with no respect. He’s very bossy and nosy. When he’s around all the staff seem to be very quiet and stressed out. We stayed there for 7 days. Every time we talked and had a joke around with some staff he had to come and stand next to us but instead of greeting us and asking us how we were, he talked to the staff and asked them what we wanted. One afternoon we invited our friend, who is a local but he lives in Australia (we came together from Australia to visit his family), to come and have a drink and use the pool. That evening while we’re relaxing near the pool, the owner came over and told my friend in Indonesian language that we couldn’t use the pool tomorrow because he’s putting some chemical in to clean the pool. Our Indonesian friend later on told us that the way the owner told him was very rude and ill-mannered. He should just tell us in English face to face. Please do not support this kind of business owner. Also if you ever go there try to have a look at all the pictures behind the reception counter. The owner showed lots of high powered Indonesian people, like high rank police and generals. We were wondering who they were. Later on my local friend told us that about 10 to 20 years ago, the Chinese businesses used to have some problems with the local people basically because they’re not trying to integrate with them. So that’s why he has to have those pictures up to show who he knows and deter the locals if they want to come and start some trouble. But that’s long time ago. Imagine that the owner is still having that kind of the perception in mind. The room is very old, the hot shower was not working. We could not move out because we paid up front and we could not get the full refund. Don’t go there. Go somewhere else and support a good business, please think about the locals they do not earn much.

Room Tip: Get the room near the beach.

We arrived in Lovina without any plans of where to stay. The Perama bus driver offered and drove us to 3 or 4 hotels along this road to check it out - unexpected kindness, wonderful man.

We finally settled in for this place, mostly for the atmosphere - it's a little bit more chilled out, friendlier, greener and non-pushy comparitively. The male receptionist was friendly and pleasant, very helpful with checking us in & welcoming us. Service was great, the staff was nice and honestly never seen them in a grouchy face. They were very good with the wake up call, nicely done.

What I really like about this place is that they really do care for their garden. The trees/plants were well kept, and birds love hanging out here. The pool was good to do some laps in. WiFi was fast, but unfortunately only available at the cafe/pool area. You could try your luck on your balcony though, it sometimes works.

Room: bedsheets + toilet + floor + balcony = clean :)

The beach is not bad try again, probably not for swimming - great for strolling & feeling the sand. We were bothered by the hawkers, the trick is to be really single-minded - if you don't want it, say it politely but strongly. Breakfast, was toast/jam/omelette - it was really good and decent.

Also they have two dogs (away from where you need to walk, don't worry) which made us feel safe to be honest. Pointers for security.

Overall, good value, worth the cash.

Room Tip: Pick the room upstairs with the balcony and/or ones closest to the cafe/pool for the WiFi.
