“Very Good Hotel”
Reviewed August 8, 2009

We had the chance through ratestogo.com to book the "Presidential suite" for a correct price and we were amazed by the size of the room with a separate bath room and shower room. It's incredibly clean with nice paintures. The food in the restaurant is very good, overpriced in comparison with Bali (but much cheaper than in Europe...): everything is imported. Anyway it's so good after having eaten rice for 10 days (but you can also eat rice :-)...)

The location is good also: you are in the middle of the nature with view on the landscape and a 5 minutes walk from the beach. To go to the center of Lovina, you need to walk during 10 minutes. Here there is one remark: the road to join the city center is very dark in the evening and you have a lot of dogs in the middle whom we were a bit affraid of...But they were finally not dangerous...

The service is great and the people are nice, open to your wishes... You only have 8-10 rooms and the size remains a human size. A hint: if you select the reflexology foot massage as I did "to relax" you will be a bit surprised: the massage made me suffer because it was very strong....And the "Spa" unit is just a bed on the balconey of the hotel...

The swimming pool is big enough to do some swimming...You have a free pool and ping pong table...

Even if is far from the airport, the distance is no problem when you enter in this beautifull place. Huge rooms bathrooms and, a supr terace. great service. is not for nightlife, that's sure, but if you are looking for a quite luxury, intimate place , BPH is perfect!

I hope we will have another chance to come back..

First time to Lovina, after 3 weeks in Bali and we chose to stay in Bali Paradise Hotel. First impressions were very good, great pool, big room, bathroom and balcony, good view & a nice looking restaurant and bar.
The restaurant and the bar are ridiculously overpriced for bali, so we never ate or drank there apart from for breakfast, and we only saw one couple eating there in one week.
The hotel was a bit like a morgue, we never really saw any one there apart from for staff, so that felt a little uncomfortable.
All of the staff were really polite, corteous and would do anything to help.
The hotels location was a bit out of the main life, you had a choice of either walking along beach, but that was interrupted by building work and JCB's which you had to dodge, or a 5- 10 mins along local roads, which were fine unless you object to howling dogs.
Maybe it was Lovina itself that wasnt the best place we visited, but the hotel on the surface is fantastic but does have its problems.
One other point was the music they played whilst there included christmas music and a NOW album that must have been from 1998!

wpmMunich, General Manager at Bali Paradise Hotel Boutique Resort, responded to this review, July 27, 2009
Let me as the General Manager from Bali Paradise Hotel make a RE-Statement to th REVIEW from 15. July 2009.

Let me explain to the criticised points:
1) Our Hotel have a different style then most of the Hotels you can find in North Bali. We are a building complex with a huge Lobby and all Rooms are in the first floor with hge balconys and nice ocean-ricefield view. (NO Cottages)
WE are a BOUTIQUE HOTEL in Lovina.
2) To call our well stylished and QUIETE Hotel like a morgue is not really nice and far away from REALITY!
3) We have only 9 rooms, therefore it never looks crowdy or noisy - if you like more action in your holiday you must stay in the South of Bali, for example in Kuta. Here in Lovina is the more relaxed and quiet place for holiday in Bali - most of our Guests enjoy our quiet and relaxed place inmiddle of Ricefields and close to the beach - and not located on a noisy Mainroad!
4) Unfortunately this year the Municipality (Desa Kalibukbuk) decide to make a walking road along the Lovina Beach- so its a bit uncomfortable to walk along the beach, but its already done and the beachwalk is wonderfull.
5) The raod to Lovina is not bad but the howling Dogs are undesirably - but the Dogs are harmless, they are just in front of there owners house like a watchguard - Animal are part of our life (also in Bali on any Touristdestinations) and we as a Hotel can not tell to the locals people who live along the road they have to take the Dogs away - understandable? I think so!
6) To call our Restaurant ridiculously overpriced for Bali so I just not right, I have to explain that we just offer imported MEAT and ALCOHOL.
And by the way, our Hotel is a BOUTIQUE HOTEL with hight standards and not a BACKPACKER Hotel, on that guests should pay attention by booking.
We want to offer our Guests just the best quality food without our Guests getting in trouble with there stomachs, like often happen in other restaurants around here. Our Food price range is from 3 - 12 USD for a Fillet Steak 250 gr, first quality imported from Germany, we are sorry that comes with the price and is not overpriced, still cheap for this sort of quality!
And for Tourists like to have a good drink - Spirits (imported) where going up in Indonesia the last one year by Government TAX over 200%. !!!
Our breakfast ( and we offer 4 different of it to choose) is also only with imported Ham, Bacon, Sausages - which obviously was good enough for the guest who wrote ths REVIEW (well, it comes include Room-Rate).
Anyway - enough with explanations - we are thankfull that sme guests at least let us survive and still some things are well at our place, but dont worry, we will continue to do our BEST for our Guests and we had and have a lot of GUESTS which enjoy highly what we doing in Lovina.
With best regards from Lovina, Bali,
General Manager
