“Lunch visit”

Met family on a nice sunny day at this establishment decided to sit in the shade and were soon delivered menus we all chose different items but there was no delay in the food arriving at the table. I opted for the Cromer crab and was not disappointed. The staff were very good and the whole place made you want to go back again. Which we will do when next visiting family.

“not impressed!!!”
Reviewed May 25, 2014

I chose to try this pub as everytime i had driven past it always had cars in the carpark. The first problem came when our order arrived. My little boys pizza arrived burnt!!! We complained and they offered a free desert. But no replacement pizza. I ordered a garlic chicken which as you do, you expect it to arrive hot. The chicken arrived with a skin formed on the sauce and it has fairly cool in temp. Obviously this had been sitting around for a while!! The waiters also bring the food out adults first which if you have two hungary children is not good. And the final nail in the coffin is that the fancy dersert bowls were chipped and cracked!!! Any chef with a food cert would throw them in the bin!! This place is over priced for the quality of food you get. AVOID!!

Went for food on a lovely sunny day and certainly wasn't disappointed. Excellent local food such as Cromer crab and tartar sauce which was so so tasty. The staff were very nice too. Would recommend!

“Best pub restaurant in Norfolk.”
Reviewed May 19, 2014

Having tried various pub/restaurants in Norfolk, i was amazed with this pub on all counts, we booked for a party of 5 for a Sunday lunchtime and on our arrival was pleasantly suprised of the ambiance and quirkiness of this country pub the gardens and outside dining areas were well presented and inside the decor was full of memorabilia from the past, although busy we were served quickly and shown to our table which was spacious and comfortable on looking through the menu we were amazed at the choice of food available it catered for everybody's needs, we chose our food and ordered from the bar, all of our party ordered different meals which were served after a wait only 25 mins and was served by a very friendly and helpful waitress, the food was served all at the same time and was piping hot it was well presented and we all agreed tasted wonderful as were the desserts so all in all a very very satisfying meal which was reasonably priced as were the drinks, with the friendliness helpfullness of all the staff and the wonderful ambiance of The White Horse we all had a memorable afternoon and would reccommend it to anyone our journey back to Essex was made all the more comfortable for our experience today.

“Poor Service”
Reviewed May 18, 2014 via mobile

Myself, along with 4 others, visited last night for a birthday meal. It was busy, a lovely summers evening. We went to the bar & were told were our table was. We sat down & looked through the vast menu. Once we had all chosen I ordered. It took over an hour for the starters to arrive! No-one asked if the starters were ok, & the empty plates sat in front of us for a good 10 mins before anyone came over to collect them. The mains then arrived promptly. We had no complaints about the starters or mains, very lovely food, but again, no-one came & asked if everything was ok. Again the empty plates sat in front of us for a good 10 mins. We decided on our desserts & I went to the bar to order. They arrived promptly. 2 of the party had the choc pot. They expected a pot of lovely melted choc, instead they received a pot of melted cooking choc which tasted vile. I had the key lime pie which was sloppy at best. Very disappointing end to the meal. I have been to The White Horse on several occasions before but doubt very much I will return again.
