Only stayed for one night but this was long enough to impress us with the quality of accomodation and catering that are on offer. The room was immaculate and comfortable, the food was excellent and reasonably priced and throughout the staff were welcoming and helpful, despite also coping with the pressure of a large event that had taken over the entire main restaurant. Handily situated if you are visiting Norwich and also a few minutes drive to Wroxham which gives access to the Broads. Highly recommended if you are looking for accomodation in this area.

Room Tip: Rooms in the main area are more convenient than those outside in the annexe, which leave you with a...

Visited with family for a booked Christmas Meal. Food very good but a few little things could have made the experience better. Firstly there was no background music! Also we sat looking at breakfast cereal boxes, obviously this long table is left set up all the time for breakfasts. There was no Christmas tree and although there were lights, a tree would have made it feel Christmassy. There was also some cardboard boxes in a corner, and stacks of chairs. I realise that chairs have to be stacked for big functions but not on view to the public. The room is also tired and in a time warp.

This is such a shame as the staff were excellent, attentive without being over the top, food was very good, plenty of meat and fresh vegetables.

We only stayed in The Old Rectory for one night but from arriving to leaving all the staff were very pleasant and efficient. When I booked online I had a small query which was answered within minutes with a phone call from Becky. We were in Room 7 which was very clean and tidy with a lovely comfy bed plus tea & coffee and bathroom toiletries. The breakfast was so good - freshly cooked and served with a smile. Nothing seemed too much trouble in this hotel. Thank you.

Room Tip: Room 7 was very nice and right at the end of a corridor

This very well-appointed hotel is set in peaceful surroundings, yet close to Norwich's city centre. It served as an excellent base for us to tour north Norfolk. The service that we at had at this hotel was superb in every way!

Five adults and three children stayed Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. The rooms were clean and pleasantly furnished in a modern wing and the three children were accommodated in a reasonably large room with three single beds which adjoined a double. There is a small lounge area and a very nice restaurant in a large round conservatory which served a fixed price menu (discounted for residents) and an a la carte choice which was enjoyed. The breakfast was good with vegetarian choices and the service was cheerful and efficient. Unusually, the milk served in the lounge with afternoon tea and even the milk in the rooms was full fat so if you like semi-skimmed you had better ask. The hotel appears to specialise in weddings (not the night we were there) so it might be worth checking when booking if you want quiet. All in all very pleasant , reasonable prices and close to Wroxham.

We stayed at the Old Rectory for a short break and the overall experience was very positive. The rooms are clean and of a reasonable size. The only negative was the bathroom, where the bath could have done with handles to make getting out easier, as it was quite slippery, although we later found a bathmat in the wardrobe.
Breakfast was good, with cereals and juices available self service, with fruits and full English also available. We also ate in the hotel restaurant on two occasions and the quality of the food was good and excellent value.
In the summer months there is a swimming pool available!
The hotel provides a good base to explore the Norfolk Broads and the coast and Norwich is a short drive away, although I would recommend using the park and ride, which is only a ten minute drive from the hotel and easier than trying to park in the middle of Norwich.
I am sure we will stay at the Old Rectory, next time we are in the area.

We stayed one Saturday night as we were at a wedding in the area. The rooms were very modern and the bed extremely comfortable with a nice view over the garden. There was also plenty of parking which is always a plus point. We really had no opportunity to look around the hotel at the other facilities as we got back late from the wedding and left soon after breakfast the following morning. Breakfast was good with the usual cereal, toast and fried breakfast although the cooked breakfast was not as hot as I would have liked. Overall, a very good choice for an overnight stay with our only criticism being when we arrived and when we left there was no-one on reception, and we had to ring the bell a couple of times before someone appeared to help us.
