A good welcome and check in. We were a little disappointed with our Suite as it looked tired and dark and the bathroom needed upgrading. Unfortunately we later found that the walls were very thin and our next door neighbours kept us awake by just talking into the early hours. But it was spacious as expected with a fridge etc.
The evening meal was very good! The service was also good. The chap in the coffee lounge was lovely and friendly and served a great coffee.
There was little choice of where to have a short walk as the golf course seemed to be fenced off and there were no gardens as such so we just walked round the car park perimeter to stretch our legs after breakfast.
The swimming pool and changing rooms were good although it would have been helpful if the girl checking us in told us that the lockers didn't take the new pound coins! We ended up taking our clothes and bags by the pool.
The Facial that my wife had in the Spa was awful. It was done by an older Therapist with a strong accent, who started a 'hard sell' before even starting the facial. This continued right the way through despite my wife saying on numerous occasions that she was happy with the products she currently uses. It was impossible to enjoy the treatment at all. So it was without doubt the most unrelaxing treatment she has ever had!
We would possibly return because the food and staff were lovely, but would ask not to have the room we had, nor the Therapist!

Hotel is tucked away in the countryside. Receptionists were all very friendly. We had a superior double room and it was lovely. Bed was huge and very, very comfy, room spacious, facilities in room all great. The spa was booked up during our stay but we used the pool, steam room and sauna which were all great. Lockers in changing rooms don’t accept new pound coins but you can buy a reusable token. Had dinner and drinks in the sports bar. I had the mac and cheese and my husband had the burger and triple cooked chips. Food was delicious. Breakfast the next morning was great. Lots of choice, buffet style and also menu. We had full English which used all local produce. Again food gorgeous. Wish we could have stayed for longer. All staff were friendly and courteous. Next time we will!

A last minute stay at this hotel and a round of golf on valley course. Booked a double room which included use of swimming pool and leisure facilities, 3 course meal in Brassiere restaurant.

Loved the golf course it had some really interesting holes and was a challenge and enjoyable.

Staff at the hotel were very friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble, we had a good chat to the barman (Ben) who was a really decent chap! We organised an early check in and a late checkout without any hassle, something I've found difficult or non-existent at other larger hotels.

Food in restaurant was nice and again staff couldn't do enough and were chatty without being OTT.

All in all a friendly, family ran hotel with two good golf courses, a nice restaurant in a relaxed atmosphere. We didn't use the pool / gym etc... but did receive spa treatments which were really good. I woudn't hesitate in staying here again in fact I'm keen to go back ASAP!

This hotel and restaurant is well placed for visits all over North Norfolk including Norwich which is only a 15 minute drive away.
The restaurant food is excellent and deals are available all year round. We have stayed twice and we were not disappointed in any way. The facilities are excellent and for those who enjoy golf this place is a must. Fancy a swim, then its available for all the guests.
The staff are polite, engaging and very helpful. The hotel is well managed and run for all the guests convenience and pleasure.

Room Tip: Watch out for special offers but all the bedrooms are well serviced.

The end to our society golf season is a weekend away. Over the years we have visited many courses and hotels around the south east and usually leave taking away fond memories it's a shame that this years event was marred by a few examples of miss management.
Arriving early on the Saturday morning and as a happy bunch looking forward to events started by a wholesome breakfast was greeted by a sour faced rude and abrupt member of staff didn't bode too well. The breakfast itself was ok although would question why a thin slice of black pudding was cut in half? Did get a full slice on Sunday although than ran out as severall didn't get any!
Saturday golf on the Hill course went well followed by 'refreshments' and booking in to what turned out to be very clean and comfortable rooms.
A few of the group took advantage of the swimming and health facilities again clean and very nice.
The evening meal was good although the wine, and bar prices, were very high.
Looking forward to the Valley course on the Sunday the party were briefed about the white line competition running on the 8th fairway as this had been pre planned with the venue and confirmed upon arrival. No problem at all was the welcoming retort when this was pre booked and so accordingly a prize was purchased.
The Valley course was testing for our handicaps and generally in good condition however several fairways were covered in leaves and with the beautiful weather we enjoyed over the two days no effort had been made to clear ihem. A relatively simple task you usually see being carried out on other tree lined courses.
As well as the frustration of losing a ball on the fairway it held up play as you looked, mostly in vain, for the ball! Making our way too the 8th tee it was disappointing to see the white line hadn't been laid down, at least I went home with a prize shame it was the one I bought and took!
Finishing the round and following a brief 'refreshment ' period we checked out and left.
Overall the hotel and facilities were good and the courses challenging but with a bit of staff training and management what was good weekend could have been great!
