About 3 or 4 miles north of Norwich city centre, the hotel is set in the grounds of its own 18-hole golf course – quite delightful. However, behind the impressive façade you will find a more standard hotel.

This was our third visit to the hotel which has improved dramatically since our first when there were numerous shortcomings. Clearly, much has been done to bring it up to the standard expected of a 4-star Marriott golf resort. The biggest of these changes has been in the restaurant where the menu variety, food quality and service have improved markedly. The breakfast buffet has also improved although the staff looked run off their feet every morning. For more casual dining, you can also use the golf café in the grounds just outside the main hotel.

Bedrooms are quite spacious and comfortable but there’s no air conditioning which, after the recent hot spell, left the rooms quite stuffy. We slept with the windows as wide open as possible together with the desktop fan provided by the hotel running all right. That didn’t detract from a good night’s sleep for me whilst my wife remains insistent that I snore too much! The daily WiFi charge of £15 is unreasonably expensive, but there’s free WiFi in the reception area using your own device. One downside is that the hotel doesn’t seem too keen to address general maintenance problems as a matter of priority.

The swimming pool and spa are excellent and open until late, and sun beds are available in a small area just outside the pool area to catch the sun when it makes an appearance.

All staff members were friendly and helpful, and a special mention must go to concierge Bernard who went the extra mile, and always had a cheery welcome. Characters like Bernard make the difference between a good hotel, and a good hotel that makes you feel relaxed and at home.

Norwich is also one of the country’s better cities, and well worth a visit. There’s a convenient Park & Ride service that has its terminus just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, and regular public transport services that run out of the city centre to Sprowston until late. The hotel is perfectly situated to explore the delights that North Norfolk has to offer.

Nice building from the outside but terribly dated and just a bit naff inside. The room was really basic and the decor made me felt like I woke up in the late 1980's. 24 hours internet access is a staggering £15. Not a good place.

We had a great time here, and here's why:
- great reception desk staff; genuinely helpful (booked taxis etc), gift for child guests which is always a nice touch. Upgraded our room to a suite as we are marriott rewards members. Nice room
-great price- booked in advance directly with the hotel. included very decent buffet breakfast with fresh breads, actimel, fresh fruits, smoked salmon, bagels etc
- good facilities. Children loved the pool. Teens loved the spa.
Overall pretty faultless (and we have stayed in much flasher establishments). Hotel is attractive, grounds immaculate, well located for our trip to see things around Norfolk. The cafe wasn't the best ever food but was fine for kids and we didn't eat in the main restaurant. Room service was fine. A good value stay- I'd definitely stay again

Stayed for two nights in a deluxe room, which was a good size and everything you would expect from a Marriott in the UK. The hotel is just outside of Norwich, with a park and ride within walking distance. Nice grounds and a golf course. The check-in was very efficient and the staff were helpful.

The pool area is large, with a separate area for lane swimming. There is a large jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, and these are open until 11pm.

We had a very nice meal in the restaurant, a special offer crab and salmon menu, £27 for 3 courses and a glass of wine. Breakfast is buffet style with a good choice.

There was a wedding at the hotel on our second night and it was a little noisy but did not disturb our sleep, and there was another wedding the following day and they were testing the sound system at 10am.

Room Tip: If there is a wedding, try and get rooms away from the marquee.

Well located with a nice golf course. Bedroom was satisfactory, but the mattress was hard and lumpy. The hotel is a major venue for weddings at this time of year, but they do a good job of protecting the residents from noisy party goers. If you can't get into the main restaurant for dinner, which we couldn't, you have to walk outside to the golf club where the food is of a much lower quality, but friendly service.
