“Moramo Waterfalls”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2014

Moramo Waterfalls is located in Tanjung Peropa Rainforest conservation area in Moramo District, South Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi. With 100 metres height and beautiful landscape, water flows through the Sevent level. It also has the 60 small levels with the unic pools. You can swim or shower there, with the fresh water, cool air, and clear water you can feel how very cool the water and the silence of rain forest. As though, the sun is trying to penetrate the forest cover with is accompanied by melodious bird's voices. before you reach that place, you will pass the beautiful rain forest for about 1.000 metres. There is the tree only around you. If you want to reach it, you can take the flight from Jakarta city to the city of Kendari, after that you can rent a car to go that place. Enjoy your holiday in Moramo Waterfalls.

“Enjoyable day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2014 via mobile

These are not Victoria Falls but worth the walk just the same. If you like tropical rainforest and cascading water falls this fits the bill. Tourist infrastructure is very basic but the path is easy to follow, reasonable standard steps and even the remnants of a hand rail on the steep steps to the largest of the cascades. A very enjoyable day out.

“Great day if nothing else to do”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2014

The waterfall is very unique in that there are many many layers of it that just keep going. We walked an old man made path to a "viewing" area and from there chose to just climb up the rocks. We had a great time climbing up the waterfall and enjoying the different levels. There is trash everywhere from the guests that visit. When we visited, initially there were no other visitors. At the end, a few other people showed up. There is not much near it. It looks like they tried to build up a nice place, but it has been left alone for quite a while. We did pay a small "fee" to be there, but its worth it. If you are pressed for time, maybe you won't think it worth it, but if you have some time to kill, it can definitely be enjoyable.

“Experience a walk in a waterfall”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2013

everytime i saw a waterfall, i always wonder how is the view from the top of it and how is the feel to walk along the stone or the wall where the water drop. Lately you can experience Canoying, a sports combining river adventure and rapelling. But it is not an everybody's attraction. But, at Moramo Waterfall, you can experience walking among the big wall of waterfall without fear of falling! You can also swim in 2-3 natural ponds there.

before you reach the waterfall, you should take a approximately 2 km trail along the path with big trees and a river. You can walk to the top of the waterfall.

the only concerns are public transportation from Kendari City is not available so you have to rent a car or motorcycle, lack of direction sign means you have to ask locals if you travel by yourself.
