Clean, comfortable and cozy hotel with very friendly and good service. Highly recommendable for staying overnight when travelling through Latvia. Food was very good and hotel has a nice terrace to enjoy a glass or two of wine late in the evening. Very positive experience

Our first experience with this hotel/restaurant was with a small tour group we were leading, but had taken someone else's recommendation. Dinner was poorly prepared and casually presented. The rooms were far away (we had to walk around a large ballroom), hot (the AC didn't work), and didn't receive the WIFI they advertised. Breakfast was no better than dinner.
Our second encounter with this place was yesterday when we went there for coffee. Cars in the parking lot, an open door and no "Slegts" (closed) sign led us to believe it was open, but a group of people sitting around eating and drinking glared at us, saying "What do you want?" And when we asked for coffee, said in a most unfriendly manner, "We're closed for the project!" As if we should have known! We won't be back.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, tasty food in restaurant, but very simple.
Wi-Fi available only at some parts of the hotel.
Spa area with two saunas and jacuzzi bath, saunas were good, jacuzzi and showers has only cool water. No space for relaxing.
If outside temperature is more than 25C, air conditioner missing.
Nice surrounding for walking.

Modern refurbishment and in good condition. Not very busy in July. The room was comfortable. There was no air-conditioning but the window provided a welcome breeze which lowered the temperature to an acceptable level. Free internet. Sadly the hot water didnt make it to our room in the morning so we had cold showers. Rather sudden way to start the day! The breakfast was spectacularly good and more than made up for the chilly start to the day. There was no dinner service so we drove to the only restaurant open in the town which turned out to be simple but very good food indeed.

The hotel is located in the territory/is part of an old manor. The place seems to be relatively recently renewed or built, the rooms are very cozy. We had a nice & spacey room (stayed with two children), very spacey bathroom. Was glad to see shower operating manual ;) (frequently places using fancy design showers seem to think that it is a game for guests to figure this part out). The only issue we noticed was that the breakfast was almost cold in the morning (i.e. the food that's supposed to be warm should be kept in more appropriate dishes). We did not try the restaurant, nor SPA, so no comments on this part. As of this point (June 2012) there is a discount of 20% of American Express, which we gladly enjoyed.

Room Tip: Be sure to check the size of the room if possible (heard some of our friends were not so happy with...
