“Wonderful Lunchtime Spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2012

On a recent trip to Burano after wandering the main street and it's many restaurants I came across the Riva Rosa nestling on the side of a quieter canal. The outside tables looked inviting in the flower decked side street and so I stopped for lunch. The Tuna tartare was very good and very fresh, unfortunately my first choice of gnocchi with spider crab was off as there were no gnocchi that day, but they suggested tagliatelle with spider crab instead and it was delicious. The fritto misto was generously portioned and light as a feather. The bottle of Sauvinon blanc I had ordered had run out and so they suggested another from the Fruli which was excellent and although more expensive they charge me the same price as the bottle I had ordered. Good service and lovely food, not cheap but I felt it good value non the less, I couldn't fault it.

“Don't be deceived by looks, just keep walking!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2012 via mobile

This was truly our worst dining experience in Europe. The service was woeful! They did not clean the table or remove dirty glasses, and only when we asked were we entitled to salt/pepper and the usual spread of breads and oil. The meals took 45 mins to arrive and they were the most thoughtless and utterly tasteless meals we had encountered. Plain flour batter with plain polenta as sauce - it was just cheap glue. We barely touched the meals and for the first time in our lives we actually told the arrogant waiter that the meals were not ok for 30 euro each! To their credit they removed one meal from the bill, but did not quite comprehend how bad the whole dining experience was.

Please do not fall for the cute terrace and well set tables, this place is a dud.

“Great place to eat if you are not in a rush.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2012

We really enjoyed our lunch time meal here. Staff were efficient and professional. Food was very good and we sat outside and enjoyed life passing by. We stayed in the Venice area for 3 weeks, trying to get good food at a reasonable price (a difficult task). This one was in the top 4 places we visited.
