We took a longtail from Aonang beach to Railay , there isn't a pier here so be ready to walk on the beach till you can board the boat .. Once we arrived , it looked like a mini paradise tucked away .. The ride to Railay was breathtaking n the beach was very quiet , nice n calm ..

Not much to say really apart from what most people know already...Railay is one of the most beautiful and picturesque beaches in Thailand. The limestone cliffs jutting out from all directions are simply breathtaking (great for rock-climbers too!).

Definitely worth spending your time in Railay if you happen to be in the Krabi area!

West beach is a lovely beach, but noisy and busy during the day with all the longtail boats coming and going. However the scenery is great, and the sand is nice and white. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby too.
East beach is not really a beach but a mangrove which is very tidal. The tide goes out a very long way exposing huge mud flats which smell quite strongly sometimes depending on the wind.
Its only a short 10 minute walk from one to the other though.

The five days we were there, it was crowded from 10am until about 6pm, with many day-trippers who arrived on longtail boats. If the sun gets too hot, a lot of people head for the shade under the trees. It was just too crowded so we spent the burning hours between noon and 2pm at lunch and in our rooms. The beach could be better if they had some deck chairs and umbrellas for rent. The last two days, we hired a boat and went to tup island in the afternoon. Busy but not crowded and it gets quite secluded after 4pm. Overall, nice beach, lovely water, great sunset. Good if you don't mind crowds.

Very buzy beach full of noisy long tail boats that you must use in order to go anywhere since there is no other access there.
