I never write reviews however I really feel that I need to warn anyone who wants to stay here of the following:
- the staff are so rude, roll their eyes at you and take forever to bring you a bill, serve food or give you towels for the pool
- there are never any towels available and al the pool chairs are taken before 10am
- if you are looking for peace and quiet this place will not offer you that. It's full of screaming kids and large families, hogging all the restaurant space and pools. I felt like I was in a kindergarten and couldn't wait to leave
- the entire resort stinks like a sewer particularly the bathroom in our room
- the breakfast is disgusting
- the resort is really expensive
- the service here is the worst I've ever encounted in Asia and I've been holidaying here for the last 6 years
Railay bay is gorgeous don't ruin your experience by staying in this hole ..

We stayed at Railay Bay in a privacy cottage on the west side. The room was beautiful and clean. Very close to the beautiful West Railay beach and with two swimming pools steps away. It was expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. Management was great and very helpful in making arrangements beforehand. It was sometimes difficult to communicate with some Thai staff with our very limited Thai language knowledge. The ladies at the spa are very very nice and we recommend their Thai massages! Breakfast was good and overall the hotel is excellent. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and did not want to leave! We definitely recommend if you'd like a little slice of heaven!

We were here around 14 days from 30.11. in 14.12. 2012. Check-in and check out was no problem. We paid admission and transportation to the airport from the hotel and everything was as it should be-one way cost 1200b. accommodation we were in a private bungalow number 9009. A private bungalow was not bad, it is spacious with private sit down outside the bungalow. There is a table and 2 chairs and 2 sunbeds and jacuzzi. It depends, but where is bungalow-because not all have such privacy-to see some of the other accommodation buildings. The Interior of the bungalow, but is no longer the most recent, I was a little disappointed. On the other hand if you do not require privacy or do not want to sunbathe naked at the bungalow that is unnecessary for a bungalow for a skipper – normal room is enough – I looked into them on the way to the bungalow.
Department and its surroundings is maintained. The Hotel is in a beautiful environment surrounded by limestone rocks. There are 2 swimming pools. One by the sea, and one within the Department – for this pool was more off-it's given its location. With a swimming pool overlooking the sea was the limited number of sunbeds, and so had to be if you wanted to spend some time here all day to take over the couch already around 8-9 o'clock in the morning.
In the surroundings of the hotel are the works which bothers a little. Especially if the ship is coming which brings the mess and blocks of the beach and spoils the view of the sea.
What concerns the breakfast so there is no problem-everything is enough and is able to choose from several types of dishes. There are various modifications of eggs, sausages, potatoes, French toast, bread, some fruit, yoghurt. As the drinks are 3 kinds of juice and coffee and tea.
The restaurant food was good-we were here every day for lunch and 2 x we were here for dinner. Compared to other restaurants that was more expensive but I didn't mind. Bothered me sometimes horrible service at lunch and dinner, so we went elsewhere for dinner. That waiter won't remember the number of the table, with food from one table to another, drinking, food and an ashtray will bring 3 people come to me when the number of waiters was appropriate. That's why we went for dinner on the other side of the restaurant where the service has been better and even more choice buffet for the fish than in a hotel.
The service at the bar also good at speed and willingness. When I compare it with a holiday in Cuba, it's a big difference.
Massages were very pleasant and the staff was nice and very helpful. Of course, there were the prices are higher than elsewhere, but it is a given that they are in the resort.
The Beach. The beach and the surrounding area is really nice, although a bit spoils the longtail boat and the sound of that issue. Also not very nice when retreating sea-since there is an ugly bottom. In the area you can't snorkel--there are no fish. I recommend to rent a kayak and ride around – there is nice scenery from the sea, but as such, I was disappointed. I'm a diver and I love marine life, but there was nothing.
At the reception, it was all right, but next to the Center if you want to book a trip so it was worse – they didn't understand English well and was a problem with the finish.
I recommend a trip to the city in the night markets (nice atmosphere), but in our case was not a sufficient number of people on the trip, so we paid it as private and thus stood in the boat there and back to 2100 THB. Otherwise the price is per person in Hotel 350THB.
Conversely, a trip to Phi Phi, I recommend only as attraction for amusement. The beach of the beach was nice, up to 300 people, and perhaps 30 ships-really bad, never more. Snorklingon Phi Phi was on the other side of the Nice-lots of fish, and even sea snake.

Room Tip: bungalov 9009 is good.

Thank you so much for your review. First of all, i am happy to know that your stay with us happy even though some issue is negative. Of course, some of our Railay Privacy cottage is dated. However, we have plan to renovate in 2013.
In the tour counter about Language barrier. I have refer to those who concern and we will improve soon.

We have stayed at the Railay Bay Resort and Spa before, but this time it was not quite as we remembered it.

The location of the resort is superb, and we love the Railay beach area, its beaches, jungle and wildlife.

The accomodation is fine, but expensive, but compared to our latest stay the food was poor (except for the pizzas) and certain staff members were rude and very little service-minded.

As we were travelling with our two daughters, we appreciated the resort's two swimming pools which are also good places to meet other children.

This hotel was amazing for the value. We stayed here three nights for our honeymoon and three nights at the Rayavadee. Although the rayavadee was awesome and fancy etc. It was also an arm and a leg and we found ourselves returning the the Railay Bay Resort bar for happy hour. The staff was so nice and the rooms were nice and clean. The location was great bc it was in the nicest beach in Krabi. It also was also located in the path were you cross from west railay to east railay so you could walk to E. Railay easily at night for drinks and nightlife. The massage at the spa was amazing and super cheap considering the prices at the Rayavadee. Teh food was amazing. Their green curry was to die for and their coconut shakes are sooo good! Breakfast was included and it was really good. The best part about it is that you basically eat breakfast almost right on the beach with one of the best views in thailand. Also, Wifi was free and it worked perfectly! I recomend couples to try to stay in the little private cottages closer to railay west. This is were we stayed and it was perfect because you are steps away from the beach, the restaurant, the spa, the pool and the bar! I can't say enough about this hotel I would recomend it to anyone and Railay is so pretty .

Thank you so much for your review. I have printed your review to all staff member to read. Your review made us smile and happy. Because you stayed in the luxury and expensive resort in Railay "Rayavadee Resort" before to stay with us. You still were satisfy during stay at Railay Bay.
Of course, you choose to stay in our top category "Railay Suite Cottage" where is just walk to the beach within 1 minutes. Room location is very close to the beach and restaurant and swimming pool. Room facilities and amenities are full fill.
Spa, our Bay View Spa staff, we have hard to train them how to make our guest relax when they come to our spa. You will receive a good service and relaxation after finish treatment.

If you plan to re-visit Krabi or Railay, let consider "Railay Bay Resort and Spa" is one of your favorite hotel to stay and send me e-mail via sales@krabi-railaybay.com.
