I recently stayed at the Railay Bay Resort and I've stayed in resorts all over the islands in Thailand. I will say that this is one of the nicest resorts I've stayed in my 5 years in Thailand. Its very well priced...located on a beautiful beach with limestone rocks framing the sunset....it really is something else. The food I thought was exceptional, especially the Barracuda fish steak..WOW!
The rooms were to a good standard, very clean and efficient. I loved that they sprinkled flowers all over the bed before I arrived. Plenty of activities to do around the island and the resort has all the information you need for day trips and adventures.
The staff were very capable and were helpful when ever I had a problem. There was one guy in the restaurant, a little older and was about the most miserable man I met on the island. Apart from that they were brilliant.
I recommend taking advantage of the pick up service from the airport....yes you can do it cheaper....but it can turn into a pain if everything isn't arranged.
All in all, I was very impressed with this resort...so much so that I'm going again next week. It really is a little paradise.More
