It's easy to use sunch throwaway superlatives like I have above, but it's true. I have stayed at alot of 5 star hotels, and, quite simply, this is head and shoulders above them. The food, the activities, the accomodation and the service were all of the highest quality.
I have been before, and I will be back.

Room tip: Rayavadee Villa is right on Phranang Beach, recently voted one of the best 10 beaches is the world.

Great hotel in an amazing place. Rooms are nice but not amazing. Definitely recommend this place. The beaches are top class. Worth wandering down the each to get a beer at some of the bars outside of the hotel which are chilled and much better value. Very child friendly.

This resort is simply the best place we have ever visited, and we have travelled a lot in the UK, Europe and Asia.
The hospitality from the staff was first class, with good English spoken by everyone, which must be a requirement to work there.
The grounds are stunning, natural beauty inside and outside of the resort, great plant life, a botanist’s dream. With wildlife in and out of the resort, it is like living in a jungle.
We stayed for 4 nights, but leaving was one of the hardest things ever!
We are a family with two children, aged 6 and 9, and were made to feel very welcome and at home.
The poolside, pool and view were amazing, and the service by the pool chap was fantastic, with the towels, the politeness, the ice lollies, the chilled water!
We appreciated the service and beauty of the resort.
The breakfast was stunning, with an order service, which actually added class to the proceedings, but the choice and quality was stunning.
We tried the Ratalay restaurant, which was also very good, even having a children’s menu, which is rare for the hotels and restaurants of Thailand.
As for the room, I mean, house. We have never seen anything like it, it was a house. The ground floor had the living area and downstairs bathroom, and mini kitchen facilities, and a swing settee. Up the polished wooden stairs was an amazing bedroom, unbelievable bathroom, huge circular bath, massive shower and fantastic toiletries, they even supplied mosi spray.
They had great tennis courts, hired for free including rackets and balls, and floodlighting, set in the shadow of an extraordinary limestone cliff.
For outside amenities, there is a supermarket, other hotels offering good food, including the Sandsea, with their great bowl of Masaman Curry and other great dishes.
The spa offered an extraordinary service, too.
This place is the best ever!

Had a great time with great service and great options for dining. Its pricey but worth it I thought. Better to go during high season for better weather though. The spa is excellent and the Thai cooking class is brilliant too.

We stayed at Rayavadee in a garden pavilion accommodation with our two children aged 12 and 7. This holiday was one of our best ever, with faultless service from all the staff members of this sprawling facility. The attention to detail in this property is exceptional, starting from the personalised greeting by staff members throughout the resort, welcome at the jetty, effortless check in and check out process, afternoon tea and crafts as well as the superb service at the restaurants and poolside. They even have arrow markings on the paths to indicate which side which beach or facility it leads to.

The resort facilities are outstanding, with each restaurant enjoying a special ambience, from the grotto bar to the beautiful Thai restaurant on Railay beachside and excellent breakfast buffet at the coffee shop. I used the spa on two occasions and it is highly recommended. The only caution is that the beach, though exceptionally picturesque and clean, is not private due to govt regulations, so you can really enjoy an uninterrupted beach experience early in the morning or late in the evening after the longtail boats with local tourists from other islands have left. Also, the day trips offered by the hotel are very expensive and it is possible to get good quality tour packages from external tour operators, so it is advisable to check out some options on the net before arriving at the hotel. It is possible to get picked up from Railay for the tours so it is not an inconvenience.

Despite this, a stay at Rayavadee is highly recommended, it will be an unforgettable experience.
