“Terrible customer service, construction noise, filthy water in front if the hotel.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

A group of us stayed at this hotel over the weekend. Prior to our arrival the communication with the hotel was very good, and they organised transfers and room changes with no issues. Upon arrival we found the reservations manager rude and abrupt. She was unfriendly, not apologetic at all about us not being able to check in to our rooms when it was almost 3pm, just stating that they were busy. Our rooms were not serviced until we requested, or should I say demanded, that they did this on the third day. They then still only did this close to 5pm. Money was stolen from 2 of our guests handbags, no apologies at all from the hotel. Upon check out the bad attitude continued. The rooms were nice, hotel pool and service nice, the exterior is a bit tired at the water in front if the hotel is filthy and full of rubbish. There is also extensive construction happening on both sites next door to the hotel, so eating in the restaurant is a rather unpleasant and noisy experience. The food is also over priced and not very good at all. Overall I would not recommend this hotel to anyone until they sort out their customer service, overall service and attitude to their guests.

Was there end March for a 4D3N honeymoon. Room was perfect. Huge bed with an ever bigger bathroom with a sunken bathtub. The grounds were beautifully planned with lots of grass, trees and flowers. And their Green Curry Pizza is too-die-for. Big selection of movies. Breakfast was standard but beware of flies.

Need to step up a notch higher on maintenance and housekeeping processes. On our second day, a glass window pane in the bathroom fell (broke) due to the old wood crumbling apart and we had to request to shift to another room as we were on the ground floor. We didn't want any peeping toms peaking in. A few hours later, realize we had accidentally left some make-up stuff behind in the old room and after speaking to the front office, requesting to check the old room etc, my make-up stuff was found in one of the room cleaning carts. Not sure whether it was a dishonestly problem or it was really just a housekeeping process to only report a lost & found item the next morning (Excuse given by the front office staff). And the walkway in front of the hotel looks like a mini earth quake zone. No beach in front of the hotel.

It's on Railey East. Coming from Krabi airport, you have to go to the pier and pay RM10/pax for a boat ride to Railey Beach - West. You've to take a 5-minutes walk to the other side which is Railey East. Railey West has the beach, shopping street and lots more presentable restaurants. Construction going on on both side of the hotel.

Staff spoke miniml english so it was a little hard to communicate.

Pros

1. Staff are helpful. But not that fluent in English
2. Room are nice and clean. Bed are huge. View are nice too
3. Food are great. Breakfast buffet have a kind selection

Cons
1. Location of the resort is on East Railay. Most of attraction is on West Railay. But it is not far, just few minutes of walking distance

Tips

Room Tip: Request 2nd or 3rd floor room for a better view

We stayed for 3 nights at Bhu Nga Thani Resort and Spa and to cut straight to the chase we enjoyed it and would recommend it as an option on the more affordable east side of Railay Beach. Our initial impression was one of wonder and amazement - a large sunken bathtub adorned with its own water feature in the back of our bedroom will do that - but on closer inspection the hotel is a little rough around the edges. The bathroom sink could use a lick of paint and light fittings were coming away from the wall. The same can be said for other areas of the hotel. The reception area is stunning. Wooden decking spanning water features all overlooking the gorgeous bay but the odd light needs replacing and things felt a tiny bit scruffy. In reflection they're small details and shouldn't deter people from staying here but they're noticeable....hence their mention here.

Beautiful grounds and great rooms. There are a series of small buildings around the grounds where the guest rooms are. Rooms are beautifully decorated and luxuriously equipped with an outdoor shower in addition to the regular bathroom. We arranged transport from the airport through the hotel and glad we did. They drove us to the pier and hauled our suitcases onto a long boat to get to the hotel. The transport is expensive but I thought it was worth it to avoid the hassle of dragging your stuff across land and sea. The hotel restaurant and breakfast buffet were great. One thing to remember is that this side of railay is not on the beach, the beach is on the other side the island/peninsula. But it's very walkable and I didn't find it a problem. The pool area is beautiful and railay itself is stunning.

Railay was so incredibly beautiful and this hotel was also amazing. The pool was great and the room was nice and big. There were tho occasional stain on the sheet but overall it was very clean and the staff were really friendly. If you haven't been to railay before it'svprobably important to know you will have to carry your bag from the long boat to the shore so pack light!!!

The hotel is situated on the East side of Railay and as such, a short walk is required to get to the sandy beaches of Railay West - however, the views from the hotel are still stunning. The room was well appointed with mod cons, however some of the finishing details are not quite there and a bit of maintenance and in some areas a scrub would have made the world of difference. The Pool is lovely and the Pool Bar is a fantastic way to round off a hard day on the beach. The food was good and the staff very helpful and friendly.

A visit to the local restaurants in Railay East is a must - excellent value and a real taste of the local culture.

The Hotel organised transfer from and to Krabi Airport was excellent and good value.
