Fresh is a lovely little restaurant on the beautiful Paul Cluver wine estate in the Elgin Valley. We went their on a cold spring day, but inside was a warm fire and their is a beautiful view over the vineyards and mountain side. It is a small and intimate setting and one can look forward to very personal experience with Chef Joan making sure she personally gets to all the tables.
The menu is simple but everything on it looked delicious and it was difficult to decide what to eat. Our food was amazing and definitely compared well with the best the Cape has to offer.
Chef Joan was very friendly and helpful. She was happy to improvise her dishes for my girlfriend that is allergic to gluten and dairy.
The restaurant also has all the incredible Paul Cluver wines available at cellar door prices, which is wonderful. My only criticism would be that there was only some of them available by the glass, which is usually one of the perks i look forward to at restaurants on the estate. Pinot Noir and Noble Late Harvest is definitely some of the best!
Service was excellent.
This restaurant is definitely a must for anyone looking for an incredible lunch in a country type setting.
