“Nice hotel in the wrong beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013 via mobile

Hotel is nice , i assume it is one of the most luxurious one in the area
Nothing to say, very nice place
Just Sorry for the beach in the front of the hotel
Very very dirty and the small port is just few meters away

The pool area is great and service too

The very friendly staff at this hotel upgraded us to a luxury room. The bathroom is especially nice with a large open shower. The hotel pool with bar is huge and has a lot of amenities. The food in the seaside bar is good but a bit pricier than in smaller hotels.

We stay there for 1 night, twi rooms, and I'll give my experience in pointers:
-rooms were dusty.
-eventhough we booked 2 months before and asked for connecting rooms, they couldnt accomodate it
-one of our rooms have problem with the door's lock. Its jammed. We were locked outside for hours. No quick response from the hotel. No Apologize at all.
-reservation for dinner was useless. They didnt prepare for us having dinner there. And the food were overpriced. And No high chair for babies..!
-They used to have a clean and beautiful beach, but now the beach was dirty. Too bad..!
-check out time was slow and boring, because, ONCE AGAIN, one of the room's lock was jammed and couldn't be opened..!!
-The only good thing was we only booked for one night there.
Stay there? No more, Please..!!

not recommended this hotel for a family vacation .. room is still the old model,, the bed creaking,, requested extra beds are expensive half of the price of the rooms, bathrooms are always dirty and smell bad .. Foreign guests do not know the etiquette,, making out in public when many children are seen .. employees are not friendly,, play the price for foreign guests ..

Room 1317. its pretty good but there are some stains on bath tub, chair, and no hooker on the door for locking. Had to wait for breakfast because all tables was full but food was delicious. The Others was good, clean pool, nice garden, have mini soccer field, a tennistable.

I've just sat back to read the previous reviews of Santosa including the management replies and have to say I'm a little disappointed that nothing seem to have changed.
I was in room 1107. The door security bolt has the portion on the door missing. The tiny old tv still sits in the corner. The room lacks decoration and character. The wardrobe door doesn't close properly so the light stays on unless the door is jammed home. The shower glass was the biggest let down however. It needs a severe scrubbing to remove years of grime.
There are not enough empty sockets in the room for the 21st century traveller and the only one empty socket has a switch that turns off when you put a travel adapter in.

Outside the room, the grounds and pool are very nice, the staff are friendly and attentive and the fast ferry pier is less than 100m away.

This is a property in need of a lot of TLC to restore it to what most visitors would expect from their hotel rooms, and from a 5* property maintenance manager I can tell you it won't break the bank to restore this old girl to her former glory.

My husband and I stayed here with 6 other friends for 4 nights and 5 days. The location of the hotel is great - right on the beach and near shops and restaurants in Senggigi. The pool is all it is cracked up to be. Beautifully maintained, big, not crowded, right by the ocean (with great sunset views). We also spent some time on the beach (the hotel provides some chairs) and we loved that as well. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Art Market where you can buy Indonesian trinkets and clothing. The restaurants in the area are good. Our favorite was Asmara. The restaurant at the hotel was also good. The breakfast was just okay, but we enjoyed lunch at the hotel 2 times. The swim up bar is also nice - pretty expensive - but still nice :) It is also really easy to get out to the Gili islands from the beach. We found a tour guy on the beach and booked with him a day in advance and went snorkeling on all 3 islands.

With all of these wonderful things it is hard to be critical of this place. But, the rooms are not near as nice as the rest of the place. We stayed in a normal room (not the villas) but they are not well kept up at all - very old. They are bland. The bathroom is also falling apart - the shower head was loose and when we first turned on the water it was brown. We were there at a very busy time, but the maid service was also not very good. A couple times they forgot to give us more toilet paper and they also didn't give us new towels. But, the sheets were clean and we didn't spend a ton of time in our room so it didn't bother us too much.

For the price, I would say this hotel is a great deal. The pool is amazing and the beach is close and gorgeous! If you aren't planning on spending a lot of time in your room, I would recommend this place for sure and I would stay here again!
