Had the Kveite and the Breiflabb. Both fresh and tasty. The restaurant is also recommended by the Norwegian Michelin chef Bent Stiansen.

We are taking a 10 days vacation in the northern Norway and, to be honest, we came here for the sightseen and the wonderful nature not to find special food...until we step into this magnificent place. The place is off the beaten track and the road to go there is more like a dirt trail but what a treat.
My wife entree , a norwegian style tapas with seven different kind of see food. I got a whale carpaccio slightly smoked. It was the first time that i had goten to eat whale and, i must confess,it is really delicious.
As a main course we got baked hallibout with crisy veggies and locally grown patatos. The main course was also excellent. The chef just uses local food stuff and he has a french like finesse in preparing the dishes.
For dessert we got cheese cake that was just perfect.I think, i never had one so good even in the best american places.
The owner, a couple of germans, was really the great culinary discovery of our trip north of the polar circle.
It´s hard to find words for the diner we enjoyed here. We had arctic starter plate and local fish as main course - we even got a beer recommendation! Not cheap as in whole Norway, but really worth a visit.
Driving out to Nyksund alone is worth the visit, and once you get there take the time to go for a walk in the town, it'll only take 5-10 minutes to see it all.
This far avay from everything you would normally expect a pretty basic restaurant, but this is not what you will find in Ekspedisjonen.
They serve high quality food, from the local area and especially the fish was fantastic.
If you ever get to this area of Norway, don't miss Ekspedisjonen, even though you might find it a bit expensive (it isn't for Norway) it certainly is worth a visit
