“Interesting and different.”
Reviewed February 8, 2012

If you would like to see nearly every cactus on this earth then this is the place! Left to the village by a cactus collector these plants have been replanted into an interesting garden/museum.

There are cafe facilities and good parking on site.

“Surprising and very interesting afternoon”
Reviewed November 6, 2011

We drove past this place and thought it was worth a nose around. This is a botanical garden for cacti and succulents. You pay E4 to get in and you are given a guide who takes you round the garden and greenhouse to tell you about the plants and answer your questions which was very good Spanish practice for us. It only took us about 40 minutes to do the tour but you could take a lot longer if you are an avid gardener. The external gardens contain a mix of the cacti you have seen in the garden centre – but never in such good condition and planted in large groups – mixed with some new and exciting species you will not have come across before. The effect is really impressive. Inside the greenhouse you get to see some really weird stuff – things that look like rocks sending out thin creepers covered in flowers, 10 foot tall cacti, tree cacti, weird leafy cacti and a special garden of tiny little cacti that are all at least 50 years old. At the end you can buy some of the hardier varieties for your garden. For anyone slightly interested in gardening or plants this is must if you are in the area. For us it was inspiring to see what fantastic planting is possible with drought tolerant species.
