A group of 10 of us had a super dinner bed and breakfast yesterday at Craigsanquhar House.
Excellent food paired with some interesting wines in a delightful setting.
Highly recommended!
Staff were very friendly and polite.
Special arrangements were made so that we could all watch the rugby while having afternoon tea , on arrival

Room Tip: All the rooms are huge and have stunning views

My Son and his new bride had there Wedding reception here on New Years Eve, The venue is unbeatable in my opinion,The staff are very professional and courteous, every request was met
friendly action no questions asked. We stayed in the Luxury Lodges for two nights as did a lot of other guests and the wedding party took over every room in the Hotel so effectively we had the whole country estate to ourselves, breakfast was served in the Hotel and was delicious lots of choices and served freshly cooked. I went from the reception venue to my Lodge later in the evening to change my outfit and the lovely young man on the reception called Ewan took me to my Lodge in his car this is service above and beyond what was expected, also John the Manager was very professional and all our requests were carried out to the letter, if you are thinking of having a Wedding here just do it ,Fantastic Wedding with Fantastic service and the food is to die for.

We stayed for two nights (a weekend) in one of the luxury lodges attached to this hotel. The standard of the lodge was fantastic - well built, well designed, good size rooms, comfortable beds and so on. The views are amazing too. However, the housekeeping was very strange. For a lodge that accommodated 6 people we had four wine glasses of two different sizes, insufficient cutlery also of different sizes and there were no instructions whatsoever for the cooker, microwave or dishwasher. What was even more amazing was provision in the bathroom. There were at least a dozen tubes in each of the three bedrooms - but most of them were body lotion, one or two were shampoo, several were hair conditioner but between three double bedrooms there was no shower gel at all. IN summary, great setting, great accommodation, poor housekeeping.

We had a dinner here for 20 and all stayed in the lodges. The lodges are fantastic, every details taken care of and wonderfully comfortable beds. We had dinner in the hotel which was delicious, beef, plaice and lamb were the favourites, service for the evening was great. The only thing that let it down was the very poor service on the Sunday morning at breakfast, having read previous reviews perhaps the Sunday staff are not up to it, but everything else surpassed expectations!

My daughter had her wedding at Craigsanquhar on the 25th of August 2012. We stayed in the Hotel the night before the wedding and had dinner which was excellent. Our rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable.
Beth and her team are to be congratulated as they ensured that we all had a lovely time and made the day special for everyone.
The food was superb, the breakfst was fantastic, we were asked to return to the function suite for breakfast on the Sunday morning so our wedding party could and guests could eat together and it was delicious and really nice that we had a room to sit together in. We had a barbeque at the hotel on the Sunday afternoon and again the service, the food ,absolutely everything was done to the highest standard and the food was of the highest quality. We could not fault a thing, Beth and her team were so accomodating and nothing at all that we asked for was a problem.

Room Tip: We saw all the rooms and the lodges. Everything first class.

My husband and I got married here on 15th September 2012 and we had the most PERFECT day!!! We really wouldn't change a thing.

Our day ran so smoothly from start to finish and the staff were all so helpful..they went out of their way to ensure that the day ran just the way that we wanted it to. We got married on the lawn, which was set out beautifully, and we were so lucky that we got such a sunny day. After the ceremony we had our canapes and drinks served on the lawn with our harpist playing in the background...perfect!

The meal was just gorgeous and so many of our guests are still commenting on this. The sticky toffee pudding was especially delicious and I think it is the best I have ever tasted! We have also visited Craigsanquhar for lunch a couple of times before this and can't fault any of the food we have ever tasted here...my husband especially loves the lamb shanks!!

A lot of our guests have passed on to us that our wedding was the best they had been to and I think the praise has to be given to John and his staff for quietly working away in the background all day and evening and creating such a happy, relaxed atmosphere for our guests. Extra praise has to also be given to the head chef and kitchen staff for producing such high quality dishes, even the evening buffet was faultless.

If you are thinking of getting married here please go and have a look as you will not be disappointed; the venue and grounds are simply breathtaking, the staff are so helpful and the food amazing.

This is a beautiful hotel with wonderful views and clean and tidy but sadly that is where any accolades stop. We went there today for Sunday lunch with the idea of booking a large family party for Christmas. Our table was booked for 12 noon as we had other plans for the afternoon but were not shown to our table until an hour later. Seed rolls were served which looked marvellous but would have made Paul Hollywood blanch as they were doughy in the extreme. We asked for some water to accompany the meal which was served warm!! interesting. When we asked for some cold water the waiter went and collected ice from the bar to put in each glass...also interesting. My starter sounded wonderful as cured salmon with a citrus dressing. The fish was fine but the dressing turned out to be lemon infused sugar syrup...terrible. The duck starter was fine but the tomato soup had separated. The man course which most of us chose was lamb shanks. Whoever thought that boiled lamb shank was a good idea. This turned out to be a pallid, tasteless lump of fatty meat. Needless to say we didn't order dessert and Christmas will not be on the menu there. This venue has such potential but the quality of the food was poor reflected by the fact that there were only two tables occupied during the whole Sunday lunch session. Such a disappointment.
