The Crystal Blue resort is sandwiched between two other properties on a steep hillside overlooking the straits between the mainland and Maricaban island. Although narrow there are over a dozen rooms, a restaurant, dive center, lounge area, camera room, reception, gift shop, bar, massage area and landscaped gardens squeezed into the resort, so it's very intensively used. The resort is very well kept and there's even a lovely creeper covered walkway leading to the rooms. Roof is grass covered giving the place an ethnic feel.
My room on the top floor was cheerful and bright with wooden parquet floor and orange and white walls. The bathroom was small but clean and modern. Ceiling was bamboo covered with wooden furniture. The best feature was the floor to ceiling window with a magnificent view of the strait. There was a balcony with wooden chairs and table. It was like waking up to paradise every morning.
The restaurant overlooking the strait serves good solid meals. Nothing fancy but good home cooked fare, although desserts are quite special. The dive center opens directly onto the beach and is airy and spacious.
The staff are helpful and friendly so its almost like staying in a homestay. Its access to the beach means getting to the dive sites is very convenient. This is a lovely place for a diving holiday in AnilaoMore
