In the cold late November we visited O Chardinet d'a Formiga, a lovely rural house in "La Fueva Valley", one of the most beautiful valleys in the Pyrenees. From the house, you will enjoy splendid views of the valley and the mountains.

Mireia and Ferran, the owners, take care of every little detail and need you may have. They serve a delicious and fresh homemade breakfast every morning. In the dinning-room you'll see the valley and feel the light and warm coming in through a big glass wall. At night, wonderful dinner prepared with so much love by Ferran. Their kids also help, and you can feel like you are among family in a very special atmosphere. Fresh and local high quality products for traditional with modern touch gastronomy. Really good and tasty. Homemade desserts like cakes, yoghurt, cheese and icecream. They have their own orchard too.

There are 2 common rooms with games, sofas, chairs, fireplace, music, books and comfy chairs. Candle lights at night... very peaceful and romantic.

5 rooms with lot of space and light. Very comfortable beds with antique wood headboards, spacious bathrooms with amazing showers. Our room had a big window so we could see the valley and mountains. Sunlight in the mornings waking us up...

There's floor heating the whole house, something great and very rare to find in most rural houses. What a great feeling in our feet.

Very recommended, we'll be back!

We had a wonderful time staying six nights at this place. Without any doubt, this is the best bed & breakfast where we've ever been. It has been a couple of days since we left and we already miss it!

O Chardinet d'a Formiga is a beautifully renovated old house looking over the Spanish Pyrenees, situated in the middle of nowhere (Charo has a population of 38) but close to national parks and historic sites. Rooms are basic and clean, some of them with a great view. The house offers a great variety of places to sit and relax. Best of all, Mireia and Ferran are great hosts. They were very helpful and created a very warm and relaxed atmosphere in their home. Don't forget to stay for dinner: Ferran is an excellent cook! (Michelin: don't forget to pay a visit!)

Mireia, Ferran and their 2 children live in a very small village with only a few houses on a hill that we climb on a narrow road. Arriving at the top, you understand why it had been selected to overlook the area to protect from the invadors, hundreds of years ago!
The house is built of stone, completely renovated with charm. The beautiful framed photos are from Ferran, who is a professionnal photographer. Our room was large and comfortable.
The meals are great. Both Mireia and Ferran are very good hosts, and their children are sweet.
It is very practical to have dinner where you sleep in Spain, since people eat late.
It is definitely a place to recommand, and well situated to visit the whole region.

This bed and breakfast is a hidden gem! Although it is located in a small village of 8 houses with a population of 34 it has a charm to it that gets to you as you step in the house. You wouldn't expect such a beautifully renovated house in such a remote location, but Ferran and Mireia did a great job. The appointments are good, modern bathroom equipment, clean rooms, wireless internet, although no TV, which didn't bother us at all. My 10 year old daughter had fun with the cat and the friendly neighbourhood dogs, when we were there, usually after 8 in the evening, after an exhausting day on the mountain. The best decision was to have dinner there instead of looking for a restaurant in the nearby villages. The highlight of our day was he dinner that Ferran was preparing. I can't remember enjoying a duck before with so little on the plate as the duck, 5 spoons of apple puree and a few teaspoons of raspberry jam. Special mention goes out for his chocolate ice cream, unbelievably smooth.
It's such a refreshing thing to have your hosts eat breakfast and dinner with you and chat about their life as you would be an old friend.
Thank you again for the hospitality. Until next time!
