This hotel is based in a castle on top of a hill in the middle of a small village in Bavaria. It has rooms in the castle itself as well as in an annex in the village (slightly cheaper). The hotel restaurant is in the castle buildings.
The castle rooms are in a building that looks old but is, in fact, 19th century. The rooms are not easy for older people or those who have trouble with steep stairs to access but the views are superb. The rooms are well equipped and decorated and are very comfortable.
The staff are very welcoming (we were offered a glass of prosecco on the terrace when we arrived).
Breakfast was very good but we had dinner in the restaurant and the food was a bit bland. The waitress that served us was delightful.

Room tip: Make sure you get a room in the castle for the views

The hotel has rooms an an guest house outside the castle yard and in the old Tower of the castle. By all means choose the tower ones. Cosy with a nice view above the castle and / or the town with an big bed and enough space for two. The hotel has an exquisite breakfast buffett - if you go there outside of the main season some restaurants etc might have close within the weeks.

Located in a beautiful historical castle the couple that manage this cosy hotel, Christian and Ilona, proved to be great party organizers: fancy dress party, gala dinner, fire shows, whiskey and cigars in the castle dungeons - all in a weekend and served with a laugh and a heart. Third time here - we'll be back!

Lovely castle hotel. Rooms spacious, neat and clean. Regrettably no wifi in the rooms, however you can connect in the reception and restaurant area. Friendly and helpful staff, always ready to help at the drop of a hat. This hotel is 40 minutes away from the main city by taxi, with no close by rail service. However, the location and views are beautiful so it is worth it.

Room tip: Ask for rooms in the tower - spacious and great views. Brace yourself for the steps.

This hotel is situated in the heart of Bavaria just off the beaten track. It is a beautiful historic property situated in idyllic Bavarian Castle like setting. Rooms are spacious, very well appointed with gorgeous views of the countryside and castle grounds. The owners, Christian & Ilona , are the most wonderful Host/ess and could not have been more accommodating. All of the staff was friendly, helpful and very professional. The food was fantastic, especially dinner in the courtyard!

Room tip: I stayed in a room in the tower over looking the courtyard and countryside, beautiful!
