“Home from home”
Reviewed June 5, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

A great lodge to stay at, so warm and welcoming a real home from home feel for perfect relaxation. During our stay my wife broke her ankle but the great facilities in the lodge and relaxing atmosphere meant we still had a great stay. The dog loved being able to wonder around the decking and watch the world go by, and we loved sitting out on an evening enjoying a nice glass of vino.

“Amazing holiday.”

We stayed 4-11th April. This was our first visit to the Lake District and we wasn't disappointed. The lodge was lovely. Everything you could possibly need. There is so much to do on and off site, every day we did something different. In the 7 days we stayed we explored caves and mines, went on two trains, hired our own little boat on the lake, went to the beach and went horse riding and air rifle shooting. We was very lucky with the weather and had lovely walks around the quiet park. The walking woods on site was ideal to walk our dog and wild deer ran straight across our path. The swimming pool was warm although can be busy so you might need to book into a time slot. We didn't go to the club house in the evening as was tired and happy to chill in front of the fire. We only found the box full of board games on the last night so we avoided the family argument over monopoly! All in all we had a great time, I especially liked that the balcony was gated so our two boys could play outside while we cooked dinner and didn't have to worry about them. The park is quiet both day and night and the cabin backs onto the woods and feels private from the neighbouring cabins. Already raved to family and friends and will be back in the future. The owner Jayne was a pleasure to speak to. Thank you, Gammage Family.

“Great getaway with the Family!”
Reviewed April 7, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Coming over from Australia, it was our first time in the Lakes District. It was fantastic and this Log Cabin was the perfect fit for our family of four. Situated in a holiday park, there was plenty to occupy the kids with and the location near the lake was great. Highly recommend staying here plus check out the nearby towns and attractions. Stunning!

Thoroughly enjoyed our syay in the lodge. Very clean and cosy with plenty if storage and little extras. Near lots of lovely lake district towns including Windermere and Bow'ness which are well worth a visit. Enjoyed the couple of nights the club had bingo and quiz on. Found the prices for food and drink a bit steep but there are plenty if lovely cafes etc nearby with good value for money. Would not hesitate to recommend this lodge to anyone heading to the lake district.

“Absolutely perfect ”
Reviewed September 20, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Me and my fiance with our two shih tzu acomodate in this lodge for 4 nights, it was absolutely perfect, very clean and comfortable for arrival. It has everything we might needed which impressed me, even lots of dvd's to watch and books to read. Beautiful location that we really didn't want to leave the house . Polite and lovely owner who represent her lodge very well by leaving lots of useful notes in the house . 100% recommend this lodge to you and will come back for our next visit.

“Lovely lodge in a peaceful setting”
Reviewed August 15, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had a lovely 5 day stay, lodge is great and fully equipped with everything you could ask for. The parks pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi were loved by all and was not too busy although we did stay mid week (Mon-Fri). Great to see the deer early morning and listen to the owls of a night. Great location for visiting all areas of the lake district. We had a great holiday the only thing for us was that there where no pubs/places to eat in walking distance so had to travel by car.

Management Response
Aug 25, 2015
Thank you for your positive feedback about your stay at the Log Cabin. Little surprised about the comment regarding having to travel by car to find pubs/places to eat, as there is a bar and restaurant on site, a restaurant 10 mins walk outside the park and numerous pubs/places to eat within a 1 hour walk to Ambleside or Bowness-on-Windermere. Comments noted and will update property description with this in mind.

“Lovely Cabin”
Reviewed June 23, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Lovely wooden cabin at the edge of the holiday park. Very homely and well equipped - kitchen is great and there are even DVDs to watch. View of the hills when its not cloudy. You can use the pool / hot tub / steam room etc at the resort for free, they are great but they do get busy as they only open 11am - 6pm Mon - Fri (a bit longer I think at w/e's)
Only gets 4 stars as I hoped to catch up on some internet time while I was there - be aware, if its important to you, that the free wifi is the holiday parks and hardly reaches this cabin at all.
I'd def go again though!
