Though we did not see the majestic tiger during our visit, it was a beautiful trip. It is perhaps on of the few forests where the core area is growing and buffer zone is expanding. That by itself, is a reward for a nature lover. We enjoyed our visit to Kanha and looking forward to visit it again to pay our respects to his Majesty.

We have been visiting kanha regularly for last 10 years now. WE like it so much that we got a holiday home done there. It is one of the best managed parks in india we have visited.
I know it is famous for tigers but it has much more to offer than that. Like it is only place you will see the hard ground brasingha. Has a great museum, where you can see pug marks of different animals and a light and sound show you must not miss. Most of the guides are knowledge able, so in your visit do not find out only about mamals also ask them about birds and insects as well and you will enjoy your trip more.
Any time is good time to visit kanha, as it is predominantly sal forest and remains ever green. The temperature in park is always 2-3 degree less then outside. We remember carrying light woolens even in summer. But best time to visit is between April to May as the forest cover is light and increases chances of spotting different animals.
There are numerous hotels both around mukki and khatia gates for stay catering to all budgets. On last count 60. We usually try to eat out at kamlesh dhaba next to khatia gate as the cook is great, service is ok and it does not cost earth as in most of resorts.
Last and not least remember to book your safari using mponline.gov.in in advance, else you might be disappointed.
Hope every one enjoys kanha as much as we do.

Grass, streams, bamboo forests, and sal trees (ask about them). Probably the prettiest park and lots of birds, and animals but no tiger. The rangers were very informative and helpful.

This place is amazing, with lots of sight-seeing on safaris. Early morning rides are advisable to enjoy sight-seeing expectations. Kisli zone has lots of fascinating scenes and thrills. Do stay for atleast 3 days to enjoy fully.
