“Kanha National Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2013

I have visited Kanha during 24th April. After getting down at Gondia, we hired a car from Mr. Mahesh Gupta (09422830601). Our driver Ajay Mohulkar took only 4 hours to reach Khatia Gate (182km) from Gondia via Balaghat, Nainpur, ChiraiDongri, Khatia.
I took total 3 safaris, 1 morning safari to Kisli and Kanha, 1 evening safari to Kanha. Finally i saw the Big Cat! on 3rd safari at Kanha water hole 7. it was around 10 minutes view of two tigers who were crossing the road in the way to water hole.
I took a day trip to Jabalpur Marbel Rock/Dhuadhar falls from Khatia. Our driver Devi Yadav(09425855370) is a gentleman and provided a car in too cheaper rate.
It was a wonderful experience of staying at Kanha Jungle Camp, the Forest Dept Rest House at New Hutments. Staying accomodation is too good with large rooms/sattelite tv/geyser.
Food is bit expensive but good in taste.
You can book FRH from its Mandla office. Manoj Mishra is the helpful person to book the FRH at Khatia Gate.

“Better organised.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

A well maintained national park. The entry, guides allocation and speed of security clearance before entering the park were well organised and speedy. The roads inside the park were well kept and regular shrup clearance and control. Plenty of rangers and trackers visibly seen working. the meadows and garss lands and water holes were well marked and easily accessed. Many varieties of wild animals to spot. Compared to Bandhavgarh, most guies here spoke some English. If you do not speak Hindi, insist for an English speaking guide.

“Memorable visit...will be back soon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

Once we entered the reserve, realized why Rudyard Kipling was so inspired to write the Jungle Book. A beautiful jungle, very well maintained with utmost care and priority to the wildlife., great flora and fauna. We were also fortunate to meet a female tigress just 15 feet from our vehicle, made the long tough journey to the reserve worth every ounce of stress taken to get there.

We toured the Kanha and Mukki zone of the reserve. Don't go there with just the tiger in mind, the other wildlife will also make the visit wonderful, the varieties of birds are excellent. The reserve is huge, hence, one may not be as fortunate to sight the King of Jungle, but other wildlife will make the trip great! Book the safaris online on the MP tourism site, then book your hotels (premium to budget facilities available) and travel

The authorities have made good clean facilities available inside the reserve viz, Kanha zone where they have eatery for breakfast, rest rooms. I was very impressed with the high level of maintenance of the reserve.

“Visit to Kanha National Park”

Jungle is properly maintained by forest department and density of dear in the park is good however tigers are less in proportion. Timing of evening safari should have be stretched a bit so that tourist get proper feel of the forest.

“Visit to Kanha”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

i have visited kanha national park during 21st April 2013.....i stayed at Kanha Jungle Camp which is the Forest Dept Rest House at Khatia gate. i travelled from Gondia (Maharashtra) to Kanha via Balaghat, Nainpur & ChiraiDongri. it is almost 182 km from Gondia. the arrangement in FRH is too good. food is bit costly but good in taste. i took 3 game drives , 1 to Kisli and 2 to Kanha Zone. my luck favoured on 3rd safari, when i saw the tiger at Kanha zone near No 7. it was almost 10 minutes view of two tigers, one male one female. even the male crossed the road also behind our gypsy. even i have seen beer on my 1st safari in Kisli zone which is one of the rare animal in any forest.
