Mandarmani is best reached by road. The nearest train station is at Contai and the nearest airport is at Kolkata.

From Kolkata, after crossing the VidyaSagar Setu, take the Kona Expressway. After driving a while turn left to Mumbai Road. Drive till you reach Kolaghat, and turn left toward Digha. 2km before reaching Contai Town you will reach Contai Bypass Road, a shortcut that will again drop you on the Kolkata-Digha road. Drive another 10 km to reach Chawalkhola. Take a left turn from Chawalkhola and follow the village road till it ends at a sea-side village called Dadanpatrabar, around 8km. From Dadanpatrabar take a right turn along a narrow road that runs for another 2-3 Km. At the end of this road, you can either drive straight along the sand or take a right turn again through a narrow village road to reach Mandarmani.

From Kolkata, catch a bus at Esplanade or at Howrah headed for Chawalkhola. You can avail any bus service headed towards Digha. State Transport Buses are available.

Beautiful secluded beaches... Complete privacy to couples ... The sea is safe and unlike other nearby beaches this one is not at all crowded... Peaceful and Clean .. The perfect beach you would ever have imagined of.. With a surprise element of Red Crabs popping out on the entire beach.. Its fun to play along the waves, collecting seashells, savari of a bike, chasing red crabs , Beautiful Weather .. etc etc... The List Duznt End .......... !

I visited Goa a couple of weeks before I visited mandarmani. This is was my second visit to this place. Trust me, none of the factors took any charm away from this place. Its a wonderful place for an extended weekend vacation with family and friends. The beach is beautiful and stretches deep into the sea with water at a comfortable height and is one of the safest beach I have seen. Only this I disliked is the dirty water. At hight tides, its extremely Beautiful. One unique thing about this beach is, you have to drive along the beach to get to the resort/hotel. A new road is under construction that might just be an alternate of not driving on the beach.
I stayed in Rose Valley Resort and its the best here. It has a number of facilities like swimming pool, water sports (indoor and outdoor), para gliding, activity for kids etc etc. We actually didn't have enough time to enjoy all those.
Food is awesome. Try all kinds of sea food and you will not be disappointed. Overall a great place, around 150 km away from kolkata. Me and the my family had an awesome time. Gud luck.

It is a beautiful beach @ bay of bengal.
The sea is magestic. Loved to stroll and collected sea shells and gifted them to family and friends.
Had fun time collecting them with my son. The sea has low tides in the evening and morning but very high tides in the afternoon and during night.
The water splashed the boundary and drenched us in the resort. It was mighty.
In the morning it was different.
Playing with Red crabs is also fun. Initially we were afraid to go near them.... but later we understood that they are harmless.
