On way back from Amritsar, we stopped at Panipat for our Dinner. In our rush to be on time, we had actually skipped our lunch and had survived the long 8 hour journey on the breakfast and the fresh kinnow juice normally vended throughout, on National Highway with the onset of Springs. As we knew the place with our previous experience, we did not take the Panipat elevated road and followed the road inside the Panipat city to reach Hotel Gold, where their restaurant Gold Plate is located. The restaurant is located on the lobby level and the hotel offers parking facility on the lobby deck level, but I am sure during the busy days there would be no parking available. we reached early and had to wait for half hour for restaurant to open at 7:00 PM for dinner. In the meantime, we waited at lobby and refreshed ourselves by stretching our legs. At 7:00 when we were ushered inside the restaurant we were impressed by its exquisite decor and ambiance. The food menu was elaborate and reasonably priced. It took about 20 minutes for food to arrive, which was fresh and tasted good. The service was tardy and not at all upto the mark. However, I would advise my readers who are taking National Highway 1 and are in hurry to reach their destination to take the elevated Panipat road and can skip this restaurant for the others which are ahead of Panipat right on NH-1, as getting inside the city causes delay and for them who are in leisure can surely try this restaurant for its food and experience.
