“Best place in BanLung”

I'm not sure how the previous customer got almost scammed because the man running this place Coco is probably one of the most hardworking Cambodians I have seen. His family live in a separate building beside the guesthouse and their room is incomparable to the luxury you experience in one of the nicer rooms. The quality of the rooms varies depending on which building you are in. There are two buildings but request a $7 room on the bottom floor of the main cabin building. This is very very nice for the $7, and you are definitely getting your money's worth. Probably one of the best values in Cambodia but don't expect anything fancy...this is backpacker style but you still have clean rooms, bottled water, and cable tv. The building itself is pretty with a wood design and the rooms have the same wooden theme. This is a quiet guesthouse and I enjoyed staying here for almost one week. It is in a good location close to all the restaurants.

We arrived late from a long trip from laos and were taken there by a motodop. When we saw the room and were told it was 10$, we decided to stay as the room was beautiful, in a wood style typical of this region (but definitely not good ecologically speaking!)... then we were moved to another room as they received a group, not really nice as they arrived after us... 2nd room was in another building, less good, but still OK this time for 7$. But the receptionist tried to get an extra buck by lying to us telling us that was 8$... Not really nice either... They also wanted to arrange us a motorbike, but went to the same place as we had been before, and also an extra buck more... but at least tyhey gave us their helmets, which were good so we took it...

Overall good option, that I would nrecommend for travellers... If you're not familiar with bargaining in Asia, I would not recommend, as they can be really sneaky!

We saw many guesthouses in Banlung and ended up here because their employee stopped us on the street promising $5 rooms, which they didnt have or at least did not want to show us. We ended up taking the cheapest option, double with fan for $7 which turned out to be ok, especially the room al the way in the back with two windows. Wifi only at the entrance and maybe in the suite (25 or 30$), no common area. You can rent better and cheaper scooters elsewhere. Right next to the excellent A'dam restaurant, close to Dutch co, bike and moto rentals, restaurants. About 10 minutes to the center (for bus tickets).
