We had a week at Palm Trees - six adults and four babies under 2. It was great for us as had loads of space for the toddlers to play and for all the clobber that comes with children and beach holidays. Natural Retreats kindly provided all the travel cots and high chairs which was an added bonus. Lovely open plan living/dining/kitchen and huge hallway for beach bags, buggies etc (plus a lockable garage where we kept our bikes). Gorgeous sunny terrace and good sized enclosed sunny garden (the blurb says views of the beach - not unless you're standing on the roof of the building! Perhaps another development has been built in the way of the view since time of writing but we def couldn't see the sea). Easy walk to the beach - quite steep on the way back but very doable - I managed to carry two children all the way and I'm not super fit! (Felt less guilty about pasties and ice cream!) Lovely shop at Trebetherick 5 mins up the road for morning croissants. The house did have a damp problem and the kitchen lights shorted a few times but this didn't bother us. Bedrooms were a little small but we weren't spending much time in them! The kitchen and bathrooms felt a little dated - don't expect power showers - but this didn't impact our stay as the living space and proximity to the beach more than made up for it. All in all an excellent base for a multi-family holiday.
We love it here! We have stayed in this well equipped beautiful apartment on many occasions over the last few years. This year's visit was as good as always. We have 2 young children (6 and 3) and always feel we have entered a home from home, well equipped, great for multiple families and only minutes from Polzeath Beach and the other fabulous amenities nearby. It has everything we want from a holiday home and feels well cared for. We look forward to our next visit.
We booked this property for a weeks holiday in August for my children and us, including our 8 month old grandchild. When we arrived there were a few issues that meant that the start of our holiday was not as we had hoped. The cleaning was poor; there was a crumbs left on the dining room table and when you wiped it with a cloth it was black, we had to clean the fridge in the kitchen, the work surfaces were dirty, all of the glasses and crockery needed re-washing as they were left dirty and we had to hoover throughout as there were noticeable bits on the floor. The back two bedrooms are situated below the block of flats/apartments and the noise from upstairs was horrendous and continuous until 1am. It kept those of our family that were in those rooms, up until the occupants upstairs went to bed. We had asked Natural Retreats before booking, whether or not there was a flat above as we were concerned about noise due to the fact that we would have a baby in the party. They assured us that there was no flat above - this was not true.
Otherwise, it's a good base for exploring Cornwall and a great location for Polzeath beach. It was well equipped and nicely laid out, perfect for multi-generation family visits. There was a good selection of games, good parking, excellent wifi, washing machine and tumble dryer available etc.
