We were staying opposite the pub and enjoyed drinks outside as well as for Lunch and Dinner. The food was tasty (especially the monkfish curry) and brilliant value each time, the staff were friendly and the local ale was really well kept. Perfect for families and couples looking for a no fuss quality pub.

Firstly let me say the team here are great. Very friendly, good fun and entertaining, everything you would want from your bar and waiting on staff. The location is lovely, overlooking the bay, the seating comfortable. Which leaves the food. It's ok, plenty of it, cooked well, presented well. I just get the feeling that they could do more, given the clientele and the location, but maybe that's exactly what they are doing, servicing their current clientele.
I'd go back, I'd recommend it for a beer with a view and good banter. I'm just not sure I'd say go for the food, based on what I saw and had.

I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that our food offering has changed a little since last summer. We now have a new head chef and an updated food menu featuring more freshly cooked local produce which is being very well received by our guests. The Oystercatcher is quite an old building and there are some constraints as to what we are able to do in the kitchen area due to size and layout issues compared to the very high levels of demand that we experience during busy days, but with thanks to feedback such as yours, as a team we are fully committed to focusing our energy on exactly what you have suggested in your review. We really appreciate the time you have taken to leave feedback and hope that you will take the opportunity to visit us again in the future.

We love coming to polzeath on holiday and often visit the oyster catcher numerous times during our visit. The staff this year have been brilliant and have helped make it a great holiday!
Relaxed beach feel pub just above Polzeath - food all day, sport on TV if you like that sort of thing. Busy in summer, bands in the winter!
