“A very enjoyable stay”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

Sarrazac is not the easiest of places to find so the very warm reception from the family made a good start to our visit. As we have dogs with us this was an ideal place for the morning and evening walk usually meeting some of the local dogs. The night sky was so clear and the peaceful surroundings all added up to an excellent stay. There are plenty of places to visit, Tureene and Collonges la Rouge almost on the doorstep. We enjoyed the ambiance of being in a family run hotel, no frills but beautifully cooked meals and service, plus the very friendly atmosphere. We will certainly return if we are anywhere in the vicinity. So peaceful and relaxing. Madame spoke good English for those who feel happier at communicating in English.

Room Tip: We were in a room in the annexe which was at the top with a long balcony plus a table and chairs. I...

A lively, well-run small hotel and restaurant in an out-of-the-way village in the middle of the Dordogne. One of those places where it's silent at night and you look up to see a million stars. Our room was in a new annexe, about 50 metres up the road from the main hotel, and this was clean and comfortable, with a good en suite shower room. Free wi-fi available in the hotel. There's also a pool, but we arrived too late and had to leave too early to see it.

We ate a good meal in the restaurant on arrival, with all the red-and-white gingham cloth covered tables full. This is the land of duck, so don't expect much beyond magret de canard, confit de canard etc, though I had a cassoulet, which was good. The service was friendly, and the hotel is recommended.

I stayed here at the end of a difficult day of hiking in the Dordogne region. It is family-run, welcoming and quiet; far from the madding crowd. The rooms are clean and simple, but more than adequate for the foot-weary traveller. The restaurant attached to the hotel is very good, as is the service. There is not much to do in the village, but it is a perfect spot in which to relax. I would definately stay there again.
