Cocora Valley cannot be missed. The most amazing hike with spectacular views. Definitely one of the top 3 of all Colombia. I highly recommend going through humming birds sanctuary. It is good to go early as it rains every day in the afternoon. Still, this hike is worth getting wet :) Enjoy!

This is one of the most beautiful hikes we have ever done! DO NOT MISS THIS! Take your time and go up to Acaime bird sanctuary and then over to la montana and down through valle de cocora. Beautiful vistas and amazing birds everywhere. Finish off with a delicious snack at the restaurant at the bottom and a ride back to town on the willy jeeps and you have yourself an unforgettable experience!

Must do this trek to see monster wax palms. Muddy 1st half. High altitude - up to 2400m. Acaime rest stop is quite nice, but if you want to shorten trek, it's okay to skip. Going down is easy trek and very fun to see the wax palms once you reach the peak.

What an amazing place this valley is to hike, get some fresh air and enjoy these majestic, tall palm trees that grow nowhere else in the world. The landscape is beautiful, reminded me of parts of Switzerland and has great hiking trails. Additionally, there are some good restaurants at the base of the park.

Hiking Cocora was my favorite thing to do in Salento. It was about a two or so hour hike up to the peak and then you start your walk down taking in all the wax palm trees. There is a longer loop for a five hour hike as well, but we stuck to the shorter one. It's a mild walk, although somewhat muddy, with some steep uphill near the end. Once you get to the top you can relax and take in the landscape. Afterwards you head down just a regular road and through the fog you can start to see the wax palm trees peaking out. Dont worry if its really foggy, once you get to the bottom you will see an entire valley of palm trees.

On your way out to Cocora, make sure to be in the square on time as the jeeps do leave right on the hour! Very easy and cheap trip overall though. Enjoy!
