“ideal seaside cottage”
Reviewed April 13, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

A charming fisherman's cottage, in peaceful location, with real fire for chilly nights. Our 8 year old loved the single room, with combed ceiling and extensive library of videos. Plenty of toys/games for younger guests and challenging jigsaws for older ones!
Ideal location for walking down the Cliff Path to Coldingham Sands, or to the harbour.
Helpful and friendly service in the village shop, where we ordered newspapers for our stay.
Delicious bacon rolls made to order in St Abbs Old School Cafe and an interesting display in St Abbs Visitor Centre, both a 5 minute walk away.
We look forward to returning in July/August, when the village putting green is open.

“Cute cottage just above the harbour and a short walk to sandy beach”
Reviewed March 5, 2014 for a stay in July 2013

We really enjoyed our stay in this comfortable and cosy cottage. We loved walking down to the harbour a couple of minutes walk below us where the fishing boats and dive boats are moored. For those who are keen on long walks the scenic path to St Abb's Head to view the nesting seabirds in season is fantastic. Equally the next town of Eyemouth can be reached by another wonderful coastal path involving some beaches and cliff top views out to sea (just under an hour and back again by bus in 15 mins if preferred). In Eyemouth we bought fresh fish at the harbour and fed scraps to the seals who managed to get on to a floating platform. There is a Co-op store there but the little Post Office in Murrayfield itself provides for most immediate needs for groceries. The nearby Coldingham sands are very suitable for children
and there is a cafe in season. Dining in the evening at Coldingham village at The New Inn is excellent. The cottage itself has everything you need and comfortably sleeps five.

“Really cosy, comfortable cottage”
Reviewed February 2, 2014 for a stay in June 2013

We have stayed in this cottage many times with family and, as on this occasion, with another couple. It's great for both although, with friends, you might have to toss as to who gets the lovely downstairs bedroom with its generous ensuite! The upstairs double is spacious too but the shower room is downstairs, off the hall. There is a comfortable lounge/dining room with open fire and the kitchen and utility are very well equipped. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed the use of the garden for afternoon tea and pre-dinner drinks! The cottage is very central, just along the road from the post office (milk, papers etc) and we had great walks along the coast path in both directions. We had a brilliant time and will definitely be back next year.
