“Comfy and cosy cottage”

We enjoyed our stay in St Abbs. The village itself is very quiet, quaint and unspoilt and the cottage ideally situated for a stroll to the harbour or a cliff top walk of only 10 mins to the lovely bay at Coldingham. The clean and homely accommodation suited us very well as grandma slept in the downstairs bedroom across from the bathroom and the two younger members of the family were upstairs. The beds were comfy and the conservatory light and warm in the daytime. The nearby post office was an added bonus as we could top up with basic provisions. There are two good eating places in the village and a good grocers in Coldingham. It was useful to be able to pull the car off the road onto the front gravelled area. The owner was very pleasant on the phone and all the arrangements for keys, directions and refund of damage security payment faultless.

We spent a week at this cottage and found it very cosy and comfortable. The location is very good for exploring the area and in walking distance of the harbour. Booking was very straightforward and the owner was efficient and helpful.

“Great cottage in a lovely little village”
Reviewed October 20, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We had a great stay here. The cottage is 5 minutes walk from the beautiful Coldingham bay (take your wetsuits and surf /boogie boards) which has rocks, sand and waves in plenty - what more could you ask for? If you want more, the cliff-top walks along the coast north past St Abbs head or south down to Eyemouth are lovely - not terribly strenuous but very scenic. Its a short drive to Coldingham for excellent pub food at the Heathers (try the fresh Scampi - although the beer is less good) and there are a couple of good cafes in St Abbs and the Friday Market in the old school hall is well worth a visit.
The cottage, which sits a street back from the top of the cliff, was clean and met all our needs. It is obviously well used. Overall a lovely place to get away for a short break.
