Owner description: In Montredon-Labessonnié in the middle of the mountains of the Tarn, the Zoo of the 3 Valleys is one of vastest south-west within a rural setting and landscape exceptional, of 58 hectares and 3 kilometers hikings which traverses site in site an exceptional collection of 1200 animals representing 140 species of the wildlife, of which an exceptional collection the cat-like ones among most beautiful of the planet of which certain rare, the African plain of 10 hectares within a singular framework that offer the valley with its giraffes, its zebras which freely gallop with their small, at the side of the wildebeests, of the antelopes. The vivarium with its crocodiles and many other animals of the wildlife without forgetting space raptors, space primates and well of others still... A splendid report with living and the biodiversity. Established in a particularly agricultural area, it profits from the contribution of the local farmers. The mountainous and sloping character of the whole of the site did not make it possible to carry out installations with pits as in certain parks, creating the illusion of a certain freedom.

I visited yesterday for the first time even though I live only half an hour away. It was a beautiful, warm early March day and I was there with a friend and her 2 children. I was impressed as it is an enormous undertaking to set up a private zoo but the owner has certainly chosen a beautiful area and is working hard to enlarge and improve everything all the time.
There is plenty of work in progress - a restaurant, a camping area, holiday bungalows etc are being built as are new enclosures for more animals, such as giraffes and elephants.
However, this did not detract from wandering about viewing happy, clean, well looked after animals.
You have to be prepared to do a lot of walking and a lot uphill but even I, an elderly lady with new knees coped happily, as there are plenty of seats ( and toilets ) along the pathways !
For me, the highlight was the "Plateau des Fauves " with the lions, tigers, cheetahs, panthers, hyenas and, of course, the wonderful white Siberian tigers.
It must be bliss for children but I enjoyed it all enormously, as a very senior adult !
