Good points : room is big, bed is comfy and wide, bathroom is as well big and toilets separated. Pool is warm, breakfast is excellent, style deco is good.

Bad points: no bathrobes, no flipflops (you have to rent if no spa booked, a first for us !!), no minibar, elevators are old and slow and too crowded, no real changing rooms before accessing the pool.

Overall, a good hotel but would be a great one if only there weren't unusual lacks.

Stayed: April 2015, traveled as a couple

    Hello John,
Thank you very much for your comments.
    It's important for us!
These kinds of information help us to rectify the different points where we can be better!
Concerning your opinion...I just wanted to clarify one point...the bathrobes and flipflops in the room!!!
Why?...because, in the past, a large part of our clients made a "big" confusion beetween the verbs "borrow" and... "leave with"! It was so difficult to solve the problem...
It' s just a matter of economics!
For that we took the decision to rent them or to borrow them if you book at the Spa!
Anyway I hope that one day we will see you again and it will be a big pleasure talking to you.
    My best regards.

You can go here for dinner even if you aren't staying at the hotel — its €39 inc some wine, per person.
All sorts of people go here, families, new money types, locals and couples. They are friendly and welcoming to English speakers - though the standard of English is variable it's not an issue at all.
Big choice of starters, and then you just grab all the veggie various side dishes from the mains buffet, some delicious baked apples as well as trad sides. No specific meals for vegetarians unfortunately and if you are strict it might be tough to ask exactly what's in what.
Great place for kids. Huge dessert selection!
Meaties get a great choice and steak cooked on demand etc that is all delicious.

The hotel is ok, clean, quite expensive considering the fact that it is almost in the middle of .... Well, nothing.
The biggest problem I saw is that the reception staff does not speak english so you have to try with the little french you remember or signes. The dinner buffe is really good and so is breakfast.

    Dear Daniela,
We would like to thank you for the comment you wrote about your last stay at ForgesHotel.
We are sorry, but as you say few people talk English at the front desk. However the Front desk manager and few of them speak fluently. They should have not work the days of your stay.
We hope that it will not put a brake on a future stay with us

We just got back from Forges after staying a couple of days.
It was better than we thought and we found out it used be Club Med before, that makes me even more feeling alright to choose this hotel.
The staffs are very friendly and the domain is huge, there are lots of activities you can enjoy.
nice garden, indoor pool(bit small),sunbeds are just outside of pool.
We had a good time and will go back.

Room Tip: Rooms are very spacious and clean, located below floors from main area, if you want to have a quiet and nice view, should ask a park view. most of rooms don't have balcony or terrace except -3 floor.
