What a lucky find. Lisa, Jeremy and their boys are the perfect hosts - nothing is too much trouble and they made us feel welcome and at home straight away. Our bedroom was huge, beautifully furnished and the ensuite was to die for - some of the old books were very tempting too! Breakfast was a feast with home made jams, yoghurt and fresh eggs and we were offered mutliple cups of tea and coffee whenever we appeared.

The location is quite quiet - unless someone upsets the geese, that is, right at the end of a narrow lane. The country surrounds you and the beauty of this part of Dorset is well worth a visit. We will definitely be back some time if only to see if Lisa finished the knitting!

We have stayed in this hidden gem of a Bed & Breakfast four times and each visit has been just great. Bowes House is at the end of a small lane surrounded by a lovely garden and Orchard with fields on every side - very peaceful. The rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds and spotless white bedlinen. Try the beautifully decorated 'Blue Room' - the large bathroom overlooks the garden. The owners Lisa & Jeremy and their family are very hospitable and welcoming. We arrived one evening very late and were immediately offered a hot drink and biscuits which was just what we needed after a long journey. Lisa's breakfasts are organic starting with fresh fruit (rhubarb/raspberries) from the garden, yoghurt plus a freshly cooked breakfast egg, bacon, sausage etc. A really wonderful place to stay, very relaxing and excellent value for money.

Bowes House B&B is a fabulous place to stay! Coming down to Dorset on a regularly basis I have tried many places in the area and Bowes house remains a step above the rest for 3 main reasons:
1. Hospitality - the warm welcome Lisa and the family greet you with when you arrive instantly makes you feel at home and relaxed
2. Rooms - the beds are so comfortable, the area so quite - a good night sleep is guaranteed
3. Breakfast – lovely locally sourced produced, the attention to detail and the lovely Clipper tea makes breakfast the most important meal of the day and sets you up perfectly to enjoy the local area (sea walks and shopping trips into Lyme Regis!)
I give Bowes house a truly deserved thumb up! (And lots of stars!)

A lovely B&B. Furnished to a high standard and very comfortable and welcoming. The house is situated amist beautiful countryside. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, although no tea making facilites in the rooms. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast on both days of our stay, and we especially enjoyed the stewed worcesterberries!

Tucked away down a country lane, a far cry from the hustle and bustle of my normal life I was fortunate enough to spend 2 nights at Bowes House.
My single room (with separate bathroom) had the most fabulous views of the rolling Dorset hills imaginable. The only sound to be heard was the odd sheep, goose or bird. It was picture perfect. The bed was firm, the duvet fluffy and it felt really homey. The free wi-fi was an added bonus.
I arrived in time for afternoon tea with Lisa's homemade cake, now that's how you make a good impression on your guest.
The very satisfying breakfast included home made yoghurt and own grown raspberries as well as locally sourced cooked breakfast items and spreads.
I would recommend Bowes House to anyone, it's in a great location to explore West Dorset and Somerset and not too far from the coast.
