Four of us stayed in two bedrooms. The rooms couldn't have been more comfortable and CLEAN. The welcome was very friendly. We enjoyed the pleasant gardens and grounds and the views. The next morning we had one of the best breakfasts one could wish for, deliciously cooked and pleasantly served by the owner herself. We wished we could have stayed longer, but firmly marked it on our list for another stay when we next visit Devon.

This Bed and Breakfast was just fantastic, from the moment we entered to the moment we left we felt like part of the family! With a low price and a lot of different attractions within the local area I would highly recommend Warrens Farm for families with young children, or couples looking for that perfect getaway. Just brilliant!

The guest house is situated at the entrance to the village of Yeoford and everything is immaculately kept. In clement weather there is a modest garden to sit in and appreciate the flowers and the ornimental pond. The house has 4 bedrooms and furnished to a very comfortable standard. The whole of the place is spotless and presided over by the lovely "Winnie" who will treat you as a long lost friend. Plenty of hot water and the breakfasts can set you up for the day if you want it, and no cheap sausages or bacon either. One minus and that is that the heating is low and the duvets are ment for arctic conditions. Rooms have baths/ shower/ toilet/tv etc. Has some very odd pictures on the walls but that makes them quite interesting.

Logistics: I took a shot and booked lodging by phone in a bed and breakfast I found through a UK B&B website. The website for the B&B [------------] The price is 25 GBP per night per person; cash only upon arrival.

The hostess Winnie: Our hostess, Winnie, was certainly the mostest! She greeted us at the door, showed us to our rooms and prepared us a welcoming tea with freshly baked treats and Devon's famous clotted cream. She asked us of our plans and itinerary offering useful tips and advice regarding other things in which we might take interest. She even provided flashlights (torches) in case we journeyed off to the local pub past dark. She provided a menu each evening for our breakfast choices and requests the time you wish to eat (and as early as 5:45 AM!). Options included tea, coffee, milk, fresh juice, and a checklist for selecting all of the accompaniments for a traditional "fry-up." Winnie offers pleasant conversation, pays close attention to detail, is knowledgeable about Devon and Cornwall and the history of the farm that her husband runs, and an excellent cook. I'm sure you'll agree upon meeting her.

The farmhouse: My family and I booked the two upstairs rooms, the "Hopper" and the "Vettriano" for a lovely two night stay while passing through Devonshire on our recent trip to Southwest England. These rooms are on the second floor of the old farmhouse. They are simply decorated with finished wooden furniture and the whitest of white linens that have the fresh scent of lavender from having sundried in the garden. Tea service is available in the bedroom. Both rooms have their respective bathrooms that were clean as whistles. The dining room on the first floor is decorated with old wooden furniture, painted red, complete with fireplace and piano. Outdoors is a lovely English garden complete with a small pond. Just beyond is the ample parking area.

The village and surrounding area: Yeoford is a village of 300 with one local pub just steps (1 minute walk) from the Farm's entrance. The staff and pub regulars were friendly; they even asked me, the foreigner, if I must be staying up at Winnie's place. Word must travel quickly in a such a small village. The grub was surprisingly tasty, and the beer as glorious as everywhere else in the world. Getting in and out of Yeoford is a fantastic experience of winding through one-lane roads with embankments several feet above the car roof. Drive slowly and pray no one's coming as room to pull aside may be a dozen yards or so behind!

The reason I spent so much time on this review was because I was so impressed by how perfect our stay was at Warrens Farm, how affordable and beautiful the accommodations were, and of course as a thank you to our gracious host. Enjoy! Kevin
