Description: The Fox Inn is a traditional English village pub with oak panelled walls covered in historic pictures of village life and a large beautifully kept beer garden. If you're a real ale lover than you won't be disappointed, as there are six real ales on offer and a cask cider. There is also five lagers and over a dozen wines available by the glass, so there should be something to suit everyones! As well as good beer this pub is known for it's food. It serves great traditional pub favourites for between £6 and £12 plus there is a specials board where the chef can show his creative side. If you are looking for a traditional pub that is not a chain or gastro pub then look no further.

We are locals at The Fox and although we don't always eat there, tonight I did and had the most delicious pasta dish with smoked salmon, black pudding and peas in a silky creamy white wine sauce. It was great and one of the best pasta dishes I've had. Our friends had an assortment of starters that included Thai fish cakes, seared tuna and olive skewers and a fresh mixed dip plate or houmous, tzatziki and guacamole all of which were very good. Visitors new to the pub - don't forget to check out the Specials board! Tonight also included venison, confit of leg of lamb, halibut and fresh fish and chips.

It's great to hear from a happy local! We get lots of compliments in the pub but very few people bother to put it on trip adviser, so a big thank for taking the time to write a positive review. The chefs will be very pleased to hear their efforts are appreciated.

Thank you, we will pass it onto the band. They are playing again on August bank holiday Sunday if you're in the area.

Just got back from having lunch with a group of friends, 25 people in all. Menu's were ordered in advance, three courses for £18.95 to include coffee and an after eight mint.

Starters were ample and adequate.

My beef was tough, I had trouble cutting it and left most of it. My friends who had the turkey were very pleased as that was delicious, the vegetables all were very nice, particularly the cauliflower. The lemon cheesecake was bland, no taste of lemon in it at all. this was possibly the cheapest cheesecake that could be bought. Those of our group who had christmas pudding also found that it was tasteless.

Coffee ok.

That said the atmosphere in the Fox Inn is lovely, decorated beautifully for christtmas, the staff were very friendly and helpful and it is not their fault that the Fox Inn cuts corners on the quality of some of its food.

Hi,

We're glad to hear your overall experience was good but sorry to hear you felt corners might have been cut with some of the food however I assure you they are not. We get our meat from a local farm in Sussex who have their own butchery department and we rarely get complants about their meat. Regarding the dessserts, we always buy luxury Christmas pudding and have done for the last four years without any complaints but we will investigate, with regards to the cheesecake this was made by our chefs and they were very disappionted to hear you felt it bland.

My wife and I were supposed to be going to a restaurant on the other side of the road but, having looked at the menu in the window plus the lack of any other diners on a Saturday evening (there's nothing worse than being the only diners in a restaurant) decided to visit the Fox instead - and how glad were we that we made the right choice! We walked in on the off-chance and took the last table in a pub that was buzzing with activity. It was trimmed out for Christmas and looked really nice. The welcome was warm, the staff were friendly and efficient and our two steak dinners (which arrived promptly) were well-cooked, generously portioned and had all the trimmings - simply delicious. We weren't driving so had a bottle of wine each and I also had a couple of pints - the whole bill was only around £70, which I thought was very good value. We'll certainly return when back in the area.

we called in for a sunday lunch, after waiting for well over a quarter of an hour for our meal, upon the meals arriving the yorkshire pudding were burnt to a crisp. we asked the young waitress of which was very helfull and efficient, came back with some more yorkshires of which were still the same. when the landlord was picking up the glasses we made a point andhe just laughed. the bar staff are very rude. when it come to getting puddings the lady behind the bar told me to go and check the boards right at the other end of the pub, i am severely disabled so would of been nice for the staff to bring a board with what was on offer to our table.
will not be returning. very bad service
