We had passed Mary Deeney's on our way to our hotel when we recently stayed in Donegal & thought it looked like a lovely place to go. We decided on our 3rd night we'd drive to try the food out. The place itself is very comfortable looking with lovely old artefacts around the building. When we entered we were greeted by a smiling waitress who seated us beside the big open fire which was lovely as it was quite cold outside.

The staff were extremely friendly & took our order within no time. A big party arrived shortly after we received our starter but regardless of this, the service we received continued to be great.

Another plus was that the food was lovely when it came out. It's you're basic kinda pub grub but regardless it was very tasty & filled us up. It helped that the prices were very reasonable. I would recommend anyone go here for a bite to eat in the evenings as you won't be disappointed.

We were staying close by and drove past Mary Deeney's bar and restaurant whilst out for a drive. It seemed like the only open and welcoming place on the road so we doubled back and stopped.

Inside is an open fire and an extensive menu and very welcoming staff.

The food was fantastic, the service was wonderful and the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. Prices were very reasonable also.

Keep up the great work!.

We drove off the ferry at MacGilligan's Point looking for somewhere to have lunch since we'd left Belfast that morning. The thatched roof caught our attention as we passed this restaurant so we doubled back and were so glad we did.
The surroundings were amazing, blazing open fire and water wheel feaure at the bar.It was a font of reminiscence of old Ireland--not really SO long ago since we recognised most of the artefacts!
The menu looked shiny and printed so when our order came it was far beyond our expectations. We'd expected an ordinary baked potato and manufactured coleslaw---instead it was a veritable feast.I have never tasted a potato like it in my life, accompanied by salad and home made coleslaw --washed down with Guiness of course.
It would be worth the trip just to eat there again.
