Bahia Blanca is located right on the Laguna Gri Gri--it is actually in the laguna.

The room are spacious. The furniture is dated, the paint pealing and the bathrooms are not very clean. It is a great deal and for a hotel with an excellent location--adjacent to two small beaches on the laguna (which are nice) and near two beautiful beaches: Playa Grande (10 minutes by car) and Playa Caletan (5 minutes by car).

The hotel is only a few steps from the town which has some restaurants, bars and stores. It is a cool small town--but it does get late early out there and things do not stay open much after dark.

We only ate breakfast there, but it was good, reasonable and you get to sit right over the laguna when you eat.

The principal attraction of Bahía Blanca is the location over the water; so you may hear the sounds of the sea and be near to nature attractions. The staff was great. The rooms were clean, bug-free, and confortable with ordinary furniture and used bathroom fixtures. There was a lady who would wash clothes and return them the next day for a small fee. A few times, I was able to use their free wireless internet which was broadcasting on the first floor. Bahía Blanca's electric generator was functioning 90 percent of the time. I enjoyed the constant breeze. I liked they tried to watch the guest's vehicles parked in front of the hotel on the street. The hotel has a bar and a kitchen with the dining area viewing the ocean; I enjoyed the food. The owner kept my belongings in a safe place. I would stay there again if even only to benefit from the very low rates.

This hotel is very simple and had never gone under renovation, but the spot is so perfect that you really forget that this place is in need new furniture and new paint. We had a very good sleep there as the hotel is right on the sea and you hear the wave (so calming...) This place is the opposite of an all inclusive and at least you stay close to the domincans in this really charming fishermans town. At the hotel you have a nice beach and you are minutes away from the best beaches of DR out the crowed and overpriced Punta Cana & Co's. The experience is worth 2-3 nights. The owners are from Quebec and all wanting to help you.
