They offered us a free welcome drink mojito without alchool which was superb! We stayed at the room 24 (triple) and there was very nice view, much space and it was well decorated. We ate at Granma's restaurant delicious food, and it was very pleasant environment.
The staff is amazing! Very friendly. They do their best to please the guests. The swimming pool was ideal. We felt so relax there and we will go back next year.

When we arrived we were shocked!! The executive room (196 euros/day) which we had booked for 2 persones and our 2 years old child was about 2.80 X 3.80 m plus a renovated small bathroom. The bed was not king size as we had asked and there was no space for babycott. The renovation was so "basic" ( since we stayed at Costa Navarino in July), just a wood at the back of the bed, and a single mirror opposite. The bathroom was good but small. Before, we arrived at 11.00 am and they told us to wait untill the rooms are ready. They offered as a free welcome drink, and some pies, but they charged us the next drinks and coffies. At 12.30 pm i asked a map to of the island because time was passing slow and it was to hot to stay around the pool. Vicky told us that our rooms ( we went with another couple with their 7 years old girl) should be ready in a while. At 1.30 protested that since from 12.oo the room was free, and there were as i saw 3 arrivals, why we had to stay with a little kid waiting. The answer was, from Vicky that there is no matter if there is a kid, the cleanning must be done as scheduled!!!
After the shock of the small room we protested to Miss Papa, that there was not enough space for all of us, plus the executive room No4 was at the side of the road with all the motor bikes in our ears, and the cleaners warehouse next to our door. She refused all these but she tried and changed our room at 4.00 pm with a couple without kid, staying at a triple with almoast the same price! That was not something special for 200 euros per day but finally there was enough space and less noise even we were on another road, but it was a dead end.The reception, the small lobby, the pool area and the resaurant are very well made, nice aesthetic, minimal, good location, very nice view. The stuff is smilling, Maria. Carima, Jason Giannis and Giorgos (at the restaurant). Carima is sometimes strange, when we said about the flies she took it personnaly answering "what is my fault?". The breakfast was quite good, but you have to share it with the flies, i do not know why they dont do something about that. We had dinner twice at the restaurant, the food was good and the boys very nice, but a little pricy. In general everything is expensive in Ios, and because there are no high quallity places (like Mykonos, Santorini, Creta), the average ones are overpriced to my opinion. The girls at the Spa were very polite and did a great job (i had a relax massage with Sofia and our friends with Victoria). Finally i had a good time, but i feel they can do much better. The free wifi is a pain... every time you log in you have to type a 6 character username and password which changes every 3 days, and the signal was poor. The cleanning lagys polite and efficient. The 22 room had a nice view but in front f a road, and a little bit hot when you come back because there is a terrace on the roof and unsufficient insulation. You have to step down 51 steps to go fromm the pool area which means you have to step up when you leave!!! If it was not so expensive i would recommend it more easily.

Room Tip: Not the top near the main road, second choice the 20s near the dead end road, the 10s in the middle even if i did not stayed think must be better.

We were two 26 year old female friends staying here for two nights and unfortunately we weren't pleasantly welcomed to Liostasi. When we arrived we were told that they had overbooked the hotel and didn't have a room available for us for that night, only the next night even though we had booked 4 months prior. So they took us to two other hotels in town to stay in for the night which were less than acceptable, I've stayed in hostels better than these. Liostasi wasted 3 hours of our time that afternoon and we were in Ios for less than 48 hours. They magically found a room for us after we refused to stay at the hostels. The next day at breakfast we were asked to leave if we had finished to make room for other guests, even though there were 5 or 6 other tables available in the restaurant. Liostasi didn't treat us like they treated their other guests as there were other couples at breakfast who didn't get asked to leave. Some of the staff here were ageists and I wouldn't recommend this hotel for anyone under the age of 35. However, the food and beverages at the hotel was great and the pool area was beautiful.

My partner and I stayed at the Liostasi hotel and spa in July 2012 for 4 nights, it wasn't long enough! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning to stay in Ios. We stayed in an executive double which had a balcony and view of the water, all amenities in the room were great, the breakfast served in the mornings was wonderful, lots of variety, there is a restaurant within the hotel which is beautiful also. Great location, only a 2 minute drive from the port, we got around with a quad bike which was fine. All staff were helpful and lovely, will definitely be planning another trip to Ios!

The Liostasi is a neat boutique hotel situated 5 minutes walk up from the harbour of Ios - halfway up to Chora. Wonderfully quiet and peaceful despite the close proximity to the port and the busy road just outside. A well kept and inviting resort with a beautiful poolarea and a wonderful view over Ios harbour and Gialos beach. The rooms are clean and comfortable - all with a spacious balcony with a splendid seaview - but the rooms are due for an upgrade/renovation. The bathroom is clean and well equipped, but quite small with little space to place your toiletries, especially when you travel with two women... The bathroom door in our room hit the toilet when you opened it - in other words you can´t use the wc without closing the door first. Only one more downside that I can think of; - we had a farm of small ants in the extra bed - which kept us all awake in the nights. Terribly annoying!
The previously mentioned poolarea also house the hotel bar and the restaurant Grandma´s. This is also where breakfast is served - outdoors - with a small, but tasty, greek breakfast buffet served until 11 am. A great way to start your day in the sun! And if you need to get up to speed on what happens at home while you´re away - there is free wifi in the pool/reception area. All you need is a code, which you obtain from the very polite, smiling and friendly staff - well fluent in english (amongst other languages). The hotel driver picked us up at the port when we arrived - and took us back upon departure.
And - not to forget; there actually were 3 sets of towels in our room - without us having to ask for the third set! (You might think, "So what?" - but we have visited a number of hotels of various classifications and this is one of the few places that really noticed that we had booked a room for three persons ...).
Great staff - great spot - and a great choice when visiting Ios!

Room Tip: The only room that does not have a direct sea view is #21. (But it has a large balcony outside in the stairway patio - with sea view).
