“The second time but not the last ,to enjoy staying at the FORUM SUITES”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

2 Fantastic , enjoyable, very "cretan" and relaxed weeks at FORUM SUITES. The hotel is very close to 4 beaches and only 10 minutes by buss to the city of Chania. The appartments ,light ,spacius ,comfortable, and very clean thanks to the staff .
Thanks to the management at all the staff at restaurant that meet us everyday and every moment serviceminded with a smile, and that upgrades the hotel to five stars for us.
The Forum Suites is for me and my wife the port och Crete. That´s why it was the second time we chosed to spend our vaccation at Forum Suites and we will be back again next year.

Went here for a week (8 - 15 sept, 2011) with my 3 years son and we had a fabulous time! The hotel is clean and very close to the lovely beach. The hotel has a playground, that my son liked a lot. I also liked the playground beacause it was clean and safe! We had a studio apartment and it was in a great shape with a comfartable bed! Thanks a lot to our cleaninglady who made the apartment shining everyday! Thanks a lot to the very friendly waiter in the snackbar, who always had a smile for us and was very professional. The hotel had an overall friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I have promised my son that we will return, beacause he really didn´t want to leave when the week was over...

Forum Hotel wasn't bad for the price. Our room was large - living area, kitchen, small dining table, bedroom, bathroom/shower with a spot to sit in the shower stall, and a nice porch. Beware - the couches are very uncomfortable. :) However, we had a leak in part of the glass in our ceiling...water got all over the living room floor during a storm...management did not seem concerned.

The pool is great! There is a mini market on the ground, as well as a great little restaurant run by a very friendly Greek guy!

The beach is right across the street...not too crowded while we were there. It was quite nice.

Forum gave us everything they promised us in their adverts and we are very satisfied. The hotel is very up to date, clean and extremely pretty - something which I find important when you are on a holiday. You want to feel a little luxurious.

The swimming pool is great, and the sunbeds too, although as in every other hotel you have selfish guests which leave their towel on their favourite bed to keep it during the day. They should have put a sign up for that. Not too many sunbeds mind you, instead they have a lot of chairs around the edges.

The reception staff is very friendly and sell you bus tickets and beach chair-tickets. The bus tickets are cheaper when buying from the hotel or the bus station than on the bus itself, Chania does this to make the bus more efficiently.

The restaurant/cafe linked with the hotel is OK but don´t expect great quality. I was especially surprised when I ordered the English Breakfast at €9 (6-7.50 in town) and all I got was a cup of coffee, some watered out orange juice, marmelade, some cheese and some ham. And 3 slices of toast. I asked for the eggs and bacon but it turns out they don´t do that. So basically a very expensive continental breakfast, not a big one either. Oh well!

A very good thing about the hotel is their internet Wi-Fi. We had our Mac with us and purchased a week of access for €20. In the mornings it doesn´t work (!) but from 9ish and out it´s pretty good. I made internet phonecalls and checked email all the time.

The hotel apartments are very nice. We are very happy about it. A comfy couch, a hard bed (but they all are on Crete, we´ve heard) a nice closet with mirror, a small bathroom with shower and a little table. The kitchen area leaves a bit to be wished for, but it´s ok. Wish there was a microwave and also I could wish for a water boiler. The cleaning staff comes every day to tidy up.

The only thing we definately did not like about Forum is the air condition. I knew from my travel agent that it was only on for parts of the night, but I figured they knew what they were doing and trusted that would be alright. It´s not. It´s been about 40 degrees Celcius here now and the aircondition stops with the cold air at around 3 am. From there on it just recycles the air without doing much with it. It´s colder outside when I open the door because I cannot sleep. But then cockroaches and other bugs can come in (yes I have spotted one in our room, but only 1 ever.)

All in all we are very pleased with Forum, it´s beautiful, friendly, good rooms and tidy. However we will not return because of the air condition. Also we wish for more private balcony, but that was nothing Forum promised us, so that is all our own fault.

We give Forum 4.5 out of 6!

My family and I had an unforgetable summer vacation in Chania last summer. FORUM Suites was a great place for relaxing. Excellent services, friendly staff and nice food. And it was few meters away from the sea! We are eager to visiting you next year! Thank you FORUM!!

Friends have asked: "After more than 20 summer holydays in Crete - why don't you buy your own house?" And we keep answering: Why buy? At Forum we have everything we need. Just imagine: Beautifully designed, located less than 100 yards from a marvelous beach. Spacy, not too large - but all the more sizable apartments(may be some of the largest in the Mediteranian?)at more than 40 sq.m. We have had as many as seven friends in the sofa indoors at the coffee table on one of those very rare rainy days. But normally, of course, the two balconys serve as livng rooms. Yes, I'm talking about a one room apartment!
A few steps down to the hotel's minimarket for picking up fresh rolls for breakfast every day. And if we get too fed up with preapring meals ourselves, the out door snack bar offers what we might need.
No disturbing through traffic, only taxis, rented cars - and local busses taking us to down town Chania in 10 some minutes.
If you are asking for luxury, soft carpets and waiters in black and white, the Forum might not be your choice. But for us luxury are clean rooms, beds and towels every day without lifting one finger. And more: It is friendly courtesy, space and proximity to the charming old town in Chania (without having to spend all night in the midst of it!).
Why not buying our own summer house? Seriously: Why should we?!
